    • A semantic-based searching apparatus and method which can search for desired information from various types of media using associative properties of search target objects are provided. The semantic-based searching apparatus stores an associative search structure that previously stores a semantic index. The associative search structure is to obtain a final search object corresponding to an input search query. The semantic index configuration includes feature metadata used to identify a specific object, semantic entity metadata to indicate semantic entities corresponding to the feature metadata, and semantic relation metadata to indicate a relation between the semantic entities. The semantic-based searching apparatus uses semantic metadata stored in conformity with the semantic index configuration, the semantic index, and the associative search structure to generate a search result corresponding to the input search query.

    • A method and apparatus for synchronizing multimedia content with a client device which supports a multi-server environment are provided. The server includes a synchronization policy management unit which acquires a synchronization policy; a synchronization information collector which collects log information of a previously performed synchronization and of a change occurring after the previously performed synchronization; a synchronization processor which performs synchronization in accordance with the collected log information; a change log management unit which stores a result of the synchronization; an interface unit which transmits the log information; and a storage unit which stores the multimedia content and the meta data of the multimedia content. The method includes acquiring a synchronization policy; collecting log information of a previous synchronization; performing synchronization with the client based on the collected log information; storing a result of the synchronization in the log information.

    • The present invention relates to a decoding device and method for a MIMO system. A linear process is applied to a received signal vector by using a channel matrix estimated from the received signal vector and a poly-diagonalized matrix, and a soft decision value is acquired through a trellis decode by using the linear process result. Since the linear preprocess is performed by using the poly-diagonalized matrix, it is possible to receive a MIMO signal having good packet error rate performance and less complexity. Also, since the tail-biting trellis decoding method is used based on the poly-diagonalized matrix that is generated by poly-diagonalizing the effective channel matrix during the process for eliminating the signal interference, the soft decision value for the symbol can be generated with a simple hardwired device and less operation complexity.
