摘要： Embodiments of the present disclosure use shared oscillator for cellular communications and location detection in a communication device. The communications device estimates a frequency offset of one of its subsystems. The communications device determines a frequency offset that results from drifting of this shared oscillator, typically caused by aging and/or changes in temperature, voltage, humidity, pressure, and/or vibration to provide some examples, from the frequency offset this subsystem. The communications device provides various compensation parameters to its various subsystems to compensate for the frequency offset that results from drifting of the oscillator.

摘要： Various embodiments of the present invention recognize at least two zones of operation for a communication device. In a first zone, which is sufficiently spaced away from a human head or body that SAR limits will be met, transmit power delivered to an antenna of a communication device may be maximized within any other constraints under which the communication device operates. In a second zone, which is not sufficiently spaced away from a human head or body, transmit power is redistributed such that SAR limitations are met without affecting the transmit power control loop of the communication device. For example, a second antenna physically disposed at a different location within the communication device may be used either instead of, or in addition to, the first transmit antenna in order that the SAR limits are met.

摘要： Embodiments are directed to a wireless receiver system that utilizes a special structure of pilot symbols used for synchronization and channel estimation in transmission packets to measure noise power at the receiver. The periodicity of the pilot signal sequences is used to extract the noise power from the received signal. Such extraction is achieved by subtracting the received signals from two pilot slots which are separated by the known periodicity of the training sequence. This method relies on the fact that desired signal and system interference signals will cancel out after the subtraction process. Measuring the power of the residual signal after subtraction represents the estimate of the noise power. Several consecutive such residual signals can be first summed up before measuring the power to improve the estimate of the noise power at the receiver. To further improve the performance, estimates of the desired signal produced by a channel estimation block can be first subtracted from each of the received signals on two pilot slots which are then to be subtracted and are separated by the known periodicity of the pilot sequence.

摘要： A method for detecting a positioning signal includes (a) correlating a segment of a received positioning signal with a reference signal of a selected code phase and frequency to obtain a correlation value, (b) if the correlation value is less than a predetermined minimum, assigning the correlation value to the predetermined minimum, and (c) accumulating the correlation value in a sum of correlation values obtained using other segments of the received positioning signal. In addition, the correlation value may be reduced by a predetermined value, which is preferably an expected mean value for a noise component in the segment of the received positioning signal.
