摘要： Described is a technology by which a virtual machine may be safely migrated to a computer system with a different platform. Compatibility of the virtual machine may be checked by comparing the virtual machine's capabilities against those of the new platform. To ensure compatibility, when created the virtual machine may have its capabilities limited by the lowest common capabilities of the different platforms available for migration. Computer systems may be grouped into migration pools based upon similar capabilities, and/or a virtual machine may be mapped to certain computer systems based upon capabilities needed by that virtual machine, such as corresponding to needed performance, fault tolerance and/or flexibility.

摘要： A system and method of making a plaster panel to use in the construction of a wall of a building in a relatively faster, easier, more efficient, and more precise manner for either interior or exterior walls is disclosed. The created plaster panels may include a slab of cementitious composition including a mixture of sizes of cut expanded polystyrene, a quantity of monofilament fiber, and a binding agent. At least one layer of a mesh may surround the slab, wherein the resulting panel is light in weight, flexible and strong. Such panels may be fixed in place to a building frame by suitable fasteners such as nails or screws, while causing little or no fracturing of the panel.

The automated transaction machines operate to carry out financial transactions with associated host computers (90, 94, 100, 104). Marketing presentations are stored on and output from the transaction machines responsive to messages exchanged with a market message server (110) which is connected to the automated transaction machines through a network (108). The connection to the automated transaction machines, which provides delivery of the market presentation materials and which causes the output of presentations, is generally independent of the messages associated with authorizing financial transactions. Some described embodiments of the invention enable presenting marketing campaigns to users of the transaction machines. The marketing campaigns may include sequences of presentations that are output on a targeted basis to particular users.

The storage compartment's unique design and placement on a sliding track allow the user to move the compartment to either side of the trailer in a direction substantially perpendicular to a line running along the length of the trailer. Furthermore, the compartment has one or more lids that allow either side to be accessed depending upon on which side of the trailer access is desired. At least one lid of the compartment may easily convert for use as a table if desired.

The transaction processing system includes among its software components message gateway routers (MGRs) (24, 164) which operate using information stored in the relational database to convert messages from a variety of external message formats used by the external devices and authorization systems, to a common internal message format used within the system. The system further uses database information to internally route messages to message processing programs (MPPs) (108, 138) which process messages and generate messages to the external devices and authorization systems. The MGR also converts the outgoing messages from the internal message format to the external message formats which can be interpreted by the external devices and systems to which the messages are directed.

摘要： A client/server computer system manages shared files. A client includes a data cache and an associated cache manager, and executes a client application that requests data from a shared file. In response to the request, the client cache manager determines if the data is currently stored in the data cache, and if so, grants the client access to the data in the cache. However, if the data is not currently stored in the cache, the client cache manager sends to the server a request for multiple consecutive blocks of data beginning with the first block containing the data requested by the client from the shared file. The server includes a token manager which receives the request, and in response (a) awards the token for a first data block specified in the request regardless of contention for the first data block and (b) awards tokens for all other consecutive blocks following the first block of the multiple blocks held by a client who also holds the token for the first block. However, if another client currently holds a contending token for one of the consecutive blocks other than the first block but does not also hold the token for the first block, then the token management process awards only the tokens for the first block and all blocks between the first block and the one block.
