    • Provided are a method for detecting a pattern of an over-sampling image and an optical information processing apparatus and method using the same. A method for detecting a pattern from an image of an over-sampled datapage includes: over-sampling the datapage to detect a detection image of the datapage; comparing the detection image and a reference image of over-sampling for the pattern by a covariance; and calculating a pixel of the pattern over-sampled by values of the reference image and the detection image compared by the covariance. Accordingly, data with a specific pattern such as a mark can be detected from an image of an over-sampled datapage, thereby making it possible to increase the data reproduction accuracy, thus making it possible to greatly increase the reliability of reproduced optical data.

    • There is provided an optical information detecting method. The method includes: detecting an image of a source data page coded with balanced codewords by the use of 1:N (where N is greater than 1) excessive detection pixels; determining a distribution pattern of valid detection pixels and invalid detection pixels to be corrected in the detected image by the use of a light intensity distribution of the detected image; and dividing the detected image into balanced codeword detecting areas corresponding to the balanced codewords and sampling data of the balanced codeword detecting areas by the use of the determined distribution pattern and an optical distribution characteristic of the balanced codewords. Accordingly, it is possible to efficiently detect optical information by the use of a 1:N over-sampling method. Specifically, the distribution pattern of valid detection pixels and invalid detection pixels in the detected image of a data page can be properly used to sample a balanced code.

    • An apparatus for compensating for pixel distortion while reproducing hologram data includes an extraction unit, a determination and calculation unit, a table, and a compensation unit. The extraction unit extracts a reproduced data image from a reproduced image frame including the reproduced data image and borders. The determination and calculation unit determines position values of edges of the extracted reproduced data image, and calculates average magnification error values of pixels within line data from position values of start and end point pixels thereof, which are based on the determined position values of the edges. The table stores misalignment compensation values for the pixels within the line data, wherein the misalignment compensation values correspond to predetermined references for average magnification error values. The compensation unit compensates for pixel positions in the extracted reproduced data image using the misalignment compensation values that correspond to the calculated average magnification error values.

    • An optical information reproducing apparatus and an optical information reproducing method using the same are provided.
