    • The apparatus includes a tube pump for discharging a fluid in a capping means sealing a nozzle forming face of a liquid ejecting head, having a roller member rolling on an inner periphery of a curved part of a tube member by pressing and deforming the curved part and a leak point, a phase detection means for detecting a phase of a rotational motion of the roller member, and a control means for controlling the operation of the tube pump. The control means has a function for stopping the roller member at a predetermined position based on information on the phase of the rotational motion of the roller member detected by the phase detection means. The suction amount of the liquid suction operation by the tube pump is prevented from variation.

The operation mechanism includes a first operation end and a second operation end that operate the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm, respectively, when the communication passage is opened to allow communication between at least one of the first and second diaphragm chambers and the ejection head, and an urging member that urges the first and second operation ends in a direction in which the communication passage is opened by the first and second diaphragms.

    • A printing system has a recording head, an ink cartridge and a computer. The recording head has a nozzle. The ink cartridge sprays the ink from the nozzle to a paper in accordance with a printing procedure. The computer detects the remaining amount of ink in the ink cartridge. The computer detects whether the remaining amount of ink is less than or equal to a predetermined reference value. The computer calculates usage required for the printing procedure of the ink when the remaining amount is determined to be less than or equal to the reference value. The computer compares the detected remaining amount of the ink when the remaining amount of ink is determined to be less than or equal to the reference value with the calculated usage.
