    • There are provided an information processing method and apparatus, which can composite an image at a link destination into document data upon printing document data that describes address information as a link to an image file, can obviate the need for additional access by the user, and can improve user's convenience. This information processing apparatus prints document data that describes address information of an image on a server which can be accessed via the Internet. An operation unit (107) issues a print instruction of an image, and makes its setups. Address information is detected from document data, and that image is accessed via the Internet. It is checked if the accessed image can be embedded in the document data. If the accessed image can be embedded, that image is downloaded. The downloaded image is embedded at a predetermined position in the document upon printing the document data.

In a speech processing system, a client 102 can be connected across a network 101 to at least one speech recognition server 110 for recognizing speech data. The client 102 receives speech data input from a speech input unit 106, and designates, from the speech recognition servers 110, a speech recognition server to be used to process the input speech. The client 102 transmits the input speech to the designated speech recognition server via a communication unit 103, and receives a processing result (recognition result) of the speech data processed by the speech recognition server by using a predetermined rule.

    • A pair of wave receiving probes is provided on opposite sides of an opening portion formed in a substrate. A waveguide is provided on one side of the substrate, and a wave reflecting unit is provided on the other side of the substrate. The wave reflecting unit is provided with a wave reflecting surface on an inner side of its end surface portion. A partition wall in a stepped pattern is provided in the waveguide, which penetrates the opening portion and extends to the end surface portion, thereby dividing the wave reflecting surface into two. The partition wall partitions the wave-guiding space formed by the waveguide, substrate and wave reflecting unit into two spaces. Accordingly, a polarized wave separator excellent in separating characteristics and preventing wave loss is realized.

In the analysis processing according to the context free grammar, a character string that satisfies the construction rule for a product model name, an onomatopoeic word or a numerical expression is extracted as a word from the natural language sentence that is an input in accordance with the word notation context free grammar data. Further, in accordance with a category that corresponds to the construction rule, the part of speech and the pronunciation of the word are determined by referring to a dictionary in which word information for each category is explained. Finally, the natural language sentence that is input is rendered vocally.
