    • A risk value is calculated to suit a state and environment of an analysis target system, by presenting data for determining whether or not a calculated risk is correct, and presenting portions for parameters to be changed such as weights related to a threat, a vulnerability and a measure contained in the risk model. A risk model correcting system includes a risk model storage section that stores as a risk model, a correspondence relationship between threats constituting a risk and a measure for each threat, and parameters including weights of them; an information collecting section that collects data of an analysis target system; an influence degree calculating section that calculates an influence degree of the existence or non-existence of the measure on a result of the calculation of the risk value; a risk analyzing section that performs a risk analysis on the analysis target system; and a reason presenting section that present a reason of the risk calculation by presenting the influence degree calculated by the risk degree calculating section.

    • A method and apparatus is provided for adjusting the tap coefficient of an adaptive automatic equalizer having a plurality of tap registers. An input signal is repetitively applied to a train of tapped delay elements and the sum of the weighted output of each tap output is obtained. An error output is obtained by taking the difference between the sum of the weighted output of each tap output and a reference signal, and a correlation value is obtained between the error output and each tap output of the delay elements. The improvement comprises storing the tap weights of each of the tapped registers and obtaining the total sum of each tap weight of one of the registers wherein the tap weight of a tap is the correlation value. This step is repeated M times, where M is an integer so that the total sum of each tap weight in another of the tapped registers is obtained and the error output is added to the total sum, determining a value of tap coefficient by the final total sum after M adjustments of the most rapid equalization. The optimum coefficient is obtained by using the value of the tap coefficient for the most rapid equalization of the tapped registers and the weight of the taps of the delay element is revised by the optimum coefficient-weight-sum of the contents of the tapped register and the tapped delay elements, thereby adjusting the weight of each tap of the delay elements.

    • A mechanical translation system is provided to obtain a sentence of target language from the tree expression of source language. The processing progresses as follows: First, a pattern which coincides with partial structure, including the highest node, of the tree fragment chosen, is selected among patterns previously contained in the pattern dictionary. The pattern has a production rule attached to the pattern. The production rule takes "extraction information" which is composed of information in the source language tree fragment concerning the part outside of and under the above mentioned partial structure and "instruction information" which is attached to the highest node of the tree fragment, as input information and generates a tree fragment in target language corresponding to the source language tree fragment and also "instruction information" to be attached to the border nodes of the partial structure and other parts in the source language tree fragment which consists of memorizing the target language tree fragment and erasing the partial structure from the source language tree fragment and bringing back to the memory to contain target language tree fragments, thus produced normally plural "child" tree fragments. After processing a plurality of target language tree fragments contained in the corresponding memory and uniting them into a single tree producing the tree of target language tree, from which the sentence in target language is obtained immediately.
