摘要： A portable, self-powered, interface converter for converting between Ethernet over twisted pair cables and Ethernet over optical fiber is described. In one implementation, the device may include a first interface to a power-over-Ethernet connection and a second interface to provide a connection to receive fiber optic cabling. A power-over-Ethernet (PoE) circuit may derive power from the PoE connection and output a corresponding power signal. A transcoder may perform physical layer conversion between Ethernet communications over twisted pair cabling connected to the first interface and Ethernet communications over the fiber optic cabling. The transcoder may be powered by the power signal output by the PoE circuit.

摘要： A method for routing network switching information includes generating at one Time Slot Network (TS Net) data firame from at least one data frame of a first type. The TS Net data frame comprises switching event information. The TS Net data frame is transferred and stored among a number of network elements using a backplane network. Compare operations are performed among prespecified data frames of the TS Net data frame, and at least one interrupt signal is generated in response to detected changes resulting from the compare operations. Information routing is controlled in at least one network and the associated network elements in response to the interrupt signals.

摘要： An interface device is disclosed for simultaneously connecting access lines to stations. Any one of the stations answers an incoming call from any one of the access lines. The interface device has line access modules each connected to a respective access line, and station access modules each connected to a respective station. A switching network selectively connects at least one of the line access modules to at least one of the station access modules. The switching network is controlled by a control unit in accordance with a predetermined sequence stored in the control unit or selected signals received from the stations through the station access modules. A speech synthesizer provides an audio signal to the stations indicating status the interface device, as well as available features and options of the interface device and the access lines. The control unit provides internal bridging of station access modules to the same access line module. In a private mode, the control unit prevents further connections and interruptions of a private connection between a station access module and an access line module. In response to a ring signal from one of the access lines, the control unit provides a ringing tone to all or selected stations which have no calls in progress, and optionally provides a line waiting tone to the stations which have calls in progress.
