    • A wastewater tertiary media filtration system capable of enhancing filtration performance while including backwashing capabilities that eliminate turbidity spikes by using compressed fluid injected to the interior of submerged filter disks is disclosed. A tertiary wastewater treatment apparatus including a filter tank having an inlet and an outlet with a plurality of pile cloth media filter disks disposed in generally parallel relation between the inlet and outlet. Each filter disk preferably includes opposing filter panels disposed in generally parallel spaced relation and supported by a frame. Each filter panel preferably includes a quantity of pile cloth, or other suitable filtration media, sandwiched between opposing mesh panels. The filter disks may be angularly disposed at approximately 55-degrees relative to horizontal so as to maximize settlement velocity in accordance with the advantages of inclined plate technology. During the filtering process, influent flows into the tank and passes through the pile cloth, or other filter media, on opposing sides of each filter disk while depositing suspended solids on the filter media. The filtered effluent flows out from the outlet of each filter disk for discharge or other suitable use. Backwashing is primarily accomplished by injecting compressed fluid (such as air) to the interior of each filter disk assembly whereby accumulated solids are blown off of the cloth filter media by reverse flow. Injecting a compressed fluid medium into the interior of each filter disk assembly increases the internal pressure within each filter disk thereby avoiding turbidity spikes associated with externally applied suction backwash systems of the background art.

    • A method for manufacture and assembly of a concrete structure includes manufacturing, at a first location, wall sections and floor/ceiling sections. The wall sections include interior form walls of adjustable separation, and may include interior and exterior finish features, interior rebar, electrical and water supply, and optional fabric forms. The floor/ceiling sections include forms that have adjustable components, and may include rebar, interior finish features, and electrical and heating components. Wall sections and floor/ceiling sections are rotatably and slidably/rotatably attached to one another to define structure segments. Structure segments may be placed in shipping containers for transport. Structure segments are transported to a construction site in a compact orientation, manipulated to an assembled position, and then concrete is inserted into forms defined by the segments and permitted to cure. Forms may be provided to permit formation of footings simultaneously with pouring of concrete for wall sections. Structure segments may be placed together to form structures.

    • A hub assembly includes a core 10 of prior art construction held together between a pair of end plates 16, 18 by a cylindrical sleeve 14, the end plates 16, 18 being braced by flange 20 and nut 42 tightened on threaded end 22 of the sleeve 14. The end plates 16, 18 have an outer ring 34 with apertures 36 for hollow pins 38 to support the core 10 and a cavity 39 with flowable material 40 for balancing the hub. The pins 38 are held in place by plugs 58 which are inserted into the interior of the pin 38 and the pin expanded outwardly by compressing the plug 58 within the interior of said pin 38 to wedge the exterior of the pin 38 within an aperture 34 of the end plate 16, 18 . Each end plate 16, 18 may be ribbed having radially extending apertures 60 to reduce weight and to aid ventilation of the hub.
