摘要： A pressure gauge for use in combination with an airway lumen having an inflatable cuff, the pressure gauge including a housing and a flexible diaphragm within the housing defining a fluid tight chamber with the chamber in fluid communication with the cuff. In use a surface of the diaphragm moves along an axis in response to a fluid pressure change in the cuff. The pressure gauge also includes a radial indicator attached to the housing extending transverse the surface of the diaphragm and a linear to radial linkage operatively associated between the surface of the diaphragm and the radial indicator to cause radial movement of the indicator. In one embodiment the linear to radial linkage includes a gear tooth rack associated with the surface of the diaphragm and a pinion gear mating with the rack. In such an embodiment the radial indicator may further include a pointer operatively associated with the pinion gear. This embodiment will also include a scale having select markings which in conjunction with the pointer allow a user to read the fluid pressure within the cuff.

摘要： A method is described for generating blended nucleic acid ligands containing non-nucleic acid functional units. Specifically, a SELEX identified RNA ligand to the integrin gpIIbIIIa is conjugated to the peptide Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Thr-Pro (SEQ ID NO:1). This blended RNA ligand inhibits the biological activity of gpIIbIIIa with high specificity. Also described is a single-stranded DNA ligand to elastase coupled to N-methoxysuccinyl-Ala-Ala-Pro-Val-chloromethyl ketone (SEQ ID NO:2). This elastase blended nucleic acid ligand inhibits the biological activity of elastase.

摘要： The present invention relates to the delivery of antihistamines through an inhalation route. Specifically, it relates to aerosols containing antihistamines that are used in inhalation therapy. In a method aspect of the present invention, an antihistamine is delivered to a patient through an inhalation route. Specifically, it relates to aerosols containing sedative-hypnotics that are used in inhalation therapy. The method comprises: a) heating a thin layer of a sedative-hypnotic, on a solid support, to form a vapor; and, b) passing air through the heated vapor to produce aerosol particles having less than 5% sedative-hypnotic drug degradation products. In a kit aspect of the present invention, a kit for delivering a sedative-hypnotic through an inhalation route is provided which comprises: a) a thin layer of a sedative-hypnotic drug and b) a device for dispensing said thin layer a sedative-hypnotic drug as a condensation aerosol.

Specifically, it relates to aerosols containing NSAIDs that are used in inhalation therapy. 摘要： The present invention relates to the delivery of erectile dysfunction drugs through an inhalation route. Specifically, it relates to aerosols containing erectile dysfunction drugs that are used in inhalation therapy. In a method aspect of the present invention, an erectile dysfunction drug is delivered to a patient through an inhalation route. The method comprises: a) heating a thin film of an erectile dysfunction drug, on a solid support, to form a vapor; and, b) passing air through the heated vapor to produce aerosol particles having less than 5% erectile dysfunction drug degradation products. In a kit aspect of the present invention, a kit for delivering an erectile dysfunction drug through an inhalation route is provided which comprises: a) a thin film of an erectile dysfunction drug composition and b) a device for dispensing said thin film as a condensation aerosol.
