    • A strainer includes a strainer body, a slider to which a cam follower is fixed, a holder to which snare wires are fixed, an operating lever, and a cam that is pivoted through operation of the operating lever. The slider is slid relative to the strainer body by pivoting the cam through operation of the operating lever so that the cam follower moves along the cam surface. The movement distance of the slider linearly changes with respect to an operation angle of the operating lever.

    • A snare drum includes a strainer system which switches the position of a snare wire between an OFF position spaced from a lower drumhead and an ON position in contact with the lower drumhead. The strainer system includes a frame to which the snare wire is attached, and a pair of link mechanisms which are joined to the respective end portions of the frame and attach the respective end portions of the frame to a shell of the snare drum. After switching the position of the snare wire to the ON position, the position of the snare wire with respect to the lower drumhead is adjusted by operating an adjust screw of the second link mechanism.

    • A spring and support structure connected through a cam with a rotary shaft for urging the rotary shaft toward a first rotation orientation. The spring urging the shaft to return toward the first rotation orientation when the shaft is rotated off that first orientation. A cam is affixed to and rotates with the shaft. A spring support is pivotally connected to the cam at a bearing between them. A spring extends between the spring support and a support base for urging the shaft and the cam toward the first orientation. The spring support includes a window larger in size than the bearing. The window periphery having an insertion groove in which the bearing sits. The bearing is easily insertable into the window and removable therefrom due to the window size. The spring support is comprised of an inside and outside member which have openings facing in opposite circumferential directions. The spring is hooked in the combined openings and is held there by the arrangement of the inside and outside parts of the spring support.

    • A universal support is provided wherein the angular adjustment provided by the universal support for an object supported thereby remains fixed even though the object, such as a drum, has been removed from the universal support. The universal support is capable of holding a support rod relative to a support stand having an attachment member. The receiving member and the rod press each has a concave surface adapted to accommodate the rod support sandwiched between the contoured surfaces of the receiving member and the rod press. In addition, the receiving member and the support stand press each has a concave surface adapted to accommodate the attachment member of the support stand sandwiched between the concave surface of the receiving member and the support stand press. Thus, the universal support is capable of accommodating the attachment member of the support stand independently of the rod support.

    • A clamp for being attaching to a drum hoop. The clamp includes a main support body having a hoop receiving part that contacts the outside of the drum hoop. L-shaped members having a hoop pressing part, for pressing against the inside of the drum hoop, and a lever, connected to the hoop pressing part, are rotatably attached to the main support body. A threaded screw passes through one lever part and the tip of the screw contacts the second lever. Advancing the screw mutually separates the levers to press the hoop pressing parts against the hoop. The main support body may be adapted for supporting an attachment to the drum such as a cowbell.

    • A tripod stand for supporting a musical instrument or other object, wherein a main post is provided with an upper slide member to which the upper ends of the three legs of the tripod are hingedly connected. A respective articulated arm connects each leg with the lower portion of the main post. Movement of the slide member up and down causes selective inward and outward movement of the legs. One of the articulated arms is longer than the others and is attached further up its associated leg than the other articulated arms. Consequently, the downward movement of the slide member causes that leg attached to the one arm to move outward further from the main post, making the bottom ends of the legs move from defining an equilateral triangle to defining an isosceles triangle and thereby tilting the main post. Greater stability can be achieved by increasing the angle between the two legs that are opposite the leg having the one longer articulated arm.
