    • Disclosed is a forensic system capable of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of classification work of whether to submit document information as evidence in a lawsuit by highlighting a portion including a specific keyword in a unit of a sentence. The forensic system includes: a database that registers a keyword for determining by a user whether a plurality of pieces of document information included in the digital information is related to a lawsuit; a retrieving unit that retrieves the keyword registered in the database from the document information; a sentence extracting unit that extracts a sentence including the retrieved keyword from the document information; a score calculating unit that calculates a score indicating a degree of relevance to the lawsuit using a feature value extracted from the sentence extracted by the sentence extracting unit; and a highlighting unit that changes a degree of highlighting of the sentence according to the score.

    • A database system performs analytics on longitudinal data, such as medical histories with events occurring to patients over time. Input data is processed into streams of events. A set of indexes of event characteristics is generated. A set of patient event histories, partitioned by patient, is generated. Several copies of event data are stored, each copy being structured to support a specific analytical task. Data is partitioned and distributed over several hardware nodes to allow parallel queries. Definitions of sets of candidate patients are translated into sets of filters applied to the set of indexes. Data for these candidates are input to analytical modules. Reports from analysis are automatically generated to be compatible with standard guidelines for reporting. Workflows support one task or a set of closely related tasks by offering the user a defined sequence of query options and analytic choices specifically arranged for the task.

    • Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure provide for extraction data from one or more repositories in response to an electronic search order including a text-based input string, a list of jurisdictions, and a list of international classes. Conditional logic of one or more rules is executed to process the search order, and the search order is transformed into one or more queries based on execution of the conditional logic of the one or more rules. A set of data is retrieved from the one or more repositories using the one or more queries to generate search results, where the set of trademarks retrieved can be limited to the list of jurisdictions and the list of international classes identified in the search order. At least a portion of the search results are transmitted to a user computing device to be rendered in a graphical user interface of a display device associated with the user computing device.

    • This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for operating a search query user interface to allow seamless creating, editing and/or refining of a search query using various interactive functions. The techniques described herein may display a search query divided into segments. A selection of a segment of the search query may then be received. One or more alternatives to the selected segment may then be presented. Next, a selection of one of the presented alternative may be received. As a result, the search query may be altered using the selected alternative. Furthermore, the techniques described herein allow a user to operate on a search query using query substitution, expansion, association and/or history functions.
