    • In an injector driving apparatus, a driving circuit supplies a current individually to each coil of multiple injectors, a current detection element detects the current flowing in a common current flow path, which is common to the coils, a current supply period guard part forcibly stops the current supplied from the driving circuit to the coil upon determination that a measured period reached a predetermined set period based on a detection result of the current detection element, and a diagnosis part operates in a period of no fuel injection to check whether the current supply period guard part normally stops the current supplied to the coil, by continuously supplying the current to the coil for only a short period, which disables the injector to open a valve, and sequentially switches over the coils.

    • A failure diagnosis apparatus for a fuel level sensor that detects a fuel remaining quantity within a fuel tank including at least a first tank and a second tank includes: a range deter mining unit for determining a range of a fuel remaining quantity on the basis of an output value of the fuel level sensor, the range being classified into a plurality of ranges in accordance with an output characteristic of the fuel level sensor; and a range failure diagnosis unit for carrying out failure diagnosis of the fuel level sensor for each range by comparing a fuel consumption quantity since the ranges are changed with a failure determining threshold value individually set up for each range. In a dead zone range in which a change in the output value of the fuel level sensor becomes small when a fuel consumer is switched from the first tank to the second tank, the range failure diagnosis unit sets the failure determining threshold value to a value corresponding to a fuel consumption quantity required to pass through the dead zone range.

    • A method and a device for identifying errors in emission-relevant control devices of a vehicle, such as the injection of fuel into a cylinder, allows error identification even if none of the sub-systems exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The method has the following steps: determining whether at least one parameter, which permits conclusions to be drawn about the emission behavior of the respective control device, lies in a desired range; if the parameter lies outside said desired range, an error value that correlates to an increase in emissions is stored; if the parameter is in the desired range, an error value of zero is stored; a total error value is formed from all error values of the control device and an error message is output if the total error value exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
