    • A device for collecting dust using highly charged hyperfine liquid droplets formed through an electro-hydrodynamic atomization process is disclosed. In the dust collecting device of this invention, a high voltage is applied to capillaries, set within a dust guide duct and having nozzles at their tips. An electric field is thus formed between the capillaries and the duct, and allows the nozzles to spray highly charged hyperfine liquid droplets. Such liquid droplets absorb dust laden in air, flowing in the duct by suction force of a fan. An electrostatic dust collector is detachably coupled to the duct while being insulated from the duct, and forms an electric field having polarity opposite to that of the highly charged liquid droplets, thus electrostatically collecting and removing the dust absorbed by the highly charged liquid droplets. The dust collecting device of this invention easily and effectively removes fine dust having a size smaller than 0.1 cm. This device is also preferably operable at low cost while achieving a desired dust collection effect, and is collaterally advantageous in that it humidifies discharged air, when water is used as the liquid for atomization of the hyperfine liquid droplets.

    • An apparatus and a method for retrieving information in a mobile information terminal are provided. The device includes a display, a position detector and a controller. The display displays a data display area for showing information depending on retrieval commands and a button area which is always displayed in a restricted size at a predetermined position and includes a plurality of buttons for inputting at least one command for creating a connection with the host for retrieval, a command for transferring to a retrieval area, and a command for selecting of an item to be searched. The position detector detects positional data corresponding to a button pressed by a user. The controller searches information from the host according to a command corresponding to the positional data detected by the position detector, and allows the searched information to be displayed on the data display area of the display. Accordingly, use of a keyboard can be minimized by installing essential commands in the form of buttons. Also, searched data is conveniently displayed on one screen for a user.

    • A switching mode power supply which controls power source supplied to electronic equipment, which is designed to protect a circuit against an overvoltage through a power line of coil or overcurrent on the occurrence of short-circuit of power line. The switching mode power supply of the present invention comprises a switching transformer for receiving DC voltage to a primary coil from a rectifier, and inducing respective different predetermined voltages into a plurality of coils on the secondary and third side of respective different turns ratio, an error detection and feedback for inputting the voltage V.sub.A of a coil with the highest turns ratio of a plurality of the coils and detecting voltage errors, a switching output for outputting a control signal so as to switch a switching transformer, a current sensor for sensing a current signal transmitted from the switching output, a pulse width modulation controller for inputting a voltage error fed back from the error detection and feedback and an output current from the current sensor and a voltage of the third coil, and outputting pulse width modulation signal which duty cycle is modulated in accordance with these input signals to the switching output, and an overvoltage and overcurrent protection circuit for detecting whether an overvoltage from a plurality of the coils occur, whether an undervoltage from a plurality of the coils occur or not, and continuously stopping an operation of pulse width modulation controller when detecting the overvoltage or the undervoltage.
