摘要： An apparatus, such as a portable telephone, is disclosed. The telephone includes a chip card reader having a connector and a adapter which has a full-SIM side and a micro-SIM side. The micro-SIM side has a rail and a stop. Further, the adapter is reversibly and removably located in a recess of the telephone. The full-SIM side of the adapter is visible when a full-SIM chip card is connected to the connector of the chip card reader, and the adapter's micro-SIM side is visible when a micro-SIM chip card is connected to the connector. The rail and said stop are arranged to place contact pads of an integrated circuit present on the micro-SIM chip card opposite the connector of the chip card reader.

The card casing is attached to the body casing by inserting the pair of pins into the pair of guide grooves. The body casing includes a first light emitter and a first light detector and the card casing comprises a second light emitter and a second light detector which are respectively disposed so as to be opposed to the first light emitter and the first light detector when the portable information terminal is used. The body casing includes a second operation unit on a plane portion of the plane-bottom groove portion.

摘要： The present invention is directed to enable a car telephone to receive incoming calls and a telephone answering device to be activated even though the ignition key is removed. A housing is fitted onto a car telephone cradle and a handset is placed on the top of the housing. When there is a call, a rotary arm which is coupled to a motor is moved, and a magnet attached to the tip of the rotary arm opens a reed relay, which corresponds to a hook switch to form a loop circuit. Then an outgoing message is transmitted via a speaker, and an incoming message from a caller is recorded via a microphone.

摘要： A single pass highlight color printer is disclosed which utilizes two pairs of Raster Output Scan (ROS) systems mounted symmetrically about a common polygon motor assembly. Four identical optical systems are thus provided, 180.degree. apart with diode laser outputs directed from a ROS frame parallel and separated to allow the appropriate spacing for xerographic components situated adjacent the xerographic belt. Each ROS unit includes a 90.degree. mirror pair which is mounted on a roof mirror carriage which in turn is connected to a focus carriage via a flexible guide system. The interaction between the focus carriage and the roof mirror carriage enables a skew alignment and process (beam steering) adjustment to be accomplished with a high degree of precision.
