    • In a pneumatic outlet a "U" shaped bail assembly is pivotally mounted on at least one end wall of the outlet. The bail assembly includes a pair of arms which extend outwardly from the end wall beyond the discharge tube of the outlet, and a body portion which extends transverse to the longitudinal axis of the discharge tube and joins the arms. A locking handle is mounted on the body portion which is movable to a locking position to maintain the end cap in engagement with the discharge tube. A locking assembly mounted on one of the arms of the bail is movable between a position blocking movement of the locking handle from the locking position and a position allowing movement of the locking handle to the unlocked position. A fastener member carried by the locking assembly is operable to fasten the locking assembly in the handle blocking position.

    • An actuating mechanism for a locking lid, capable of completely clearing an opening in a vessel and which, in the closed position, is flush with the inner wall of the vessel. The actuating mechanism comprises a sleeve which slides over a fixed rod at an angle of between 0.degree. - 30.degree. with the vessel wall. The sleeve carries at spaced points two pivotally mounted, parallel links of equal length which are pivotally connected to the lid. The lid also carries a guide wheel running in a guide track disposed perpendicular to the vessel wall and one pivotal connection between the sleeve and link carries a connecting rod displaced by a crank provided with an actuating lever. In the initial opening and final closing movements, the locking lid moves perpendicular to the wall guided by the guide wheel running in the guide track and after clearing the opening, the lid moves parallel to itself and is brought back in front of the opening.

    • A closure apparatus is provided for optionally closing and opening a storage hopper portion of an adsorber filter fill system used for filling adsorber filter cells in a gas adsorber filter system. The closure apparatus is particularly adapted to have a portion thereof move with respect to a metering means of storage hopper of an adsorber filter fill system between first or open and second or closed positions, so as to optionally, selectably permit the opening and closing of the storage hopper. The closure apparatus provides a substantially air-tight seal at holes in the metering means of the adsorber filter fill system when the closure apparatus is at the closed position. The closure apparatus is designed so that its sliding operation and maintenance of substantially air-tight seals is not adversely affected by the presence of any granules of adsorbent which remain in the holes in the metering means or in the vicinity of the holes in the metering means once filling of the adsorber filter system is completed.

    • A door construction utilized to control the discharge of material, especially particulate material such as feed and grain, from the outlet of a receiver in which the material is being processed or stored. The structure employs a door member in the outlet which slides in a self-cleaning, inclined track formed by a pair of rails at each side margin of the member. The outer rail of each pair is in surface contact with the respective margin, whereas the inner rail is essentially in line contact with the margin and is part of a transversely U-shaped component that provides a passage along the margin which receives material that may enter the track. Such material is conveyed by gravity flow through the track passages and returned to the receiver, thereby providing the self-cleaning action to prevent the door member from freezing in the track and also preventing leakage of material when the door member is shut. Each of the passages is progressively larger in cross-sectional area from its upper to its lower end to prevent the material from caking and obstructing the passage.

    • A gate type blade valve is disclosed which has a fully enclosed blade and is adapted particularly for controlling the flow of dry materials. A curved valve blade is movable in the valve body adjacent the inlet between open and closed positions. The valve housing incorporates an offset portion at one lateral side of the inlet to receive the blade in its open position. The offset fully encloses the blade and prevents loss of material outwardly and prevents contamination inwardly. It also eliminates the necessity for sealing across a blade slot. A wiper seal engages the top of the blade so that the inlet is sealed from the enclosing offset housing portion when the blade is closed. The blade is mounted on a pair of sector-shaped arms which have small frontal areas and offer little resistance to movement through material flowing through the housing. Crank arms are provided by which movement of the blade is controlled and the blade may be moved by power or by a hand lever, or by a remote pull rope connected to the lever. In one embodiment, the housing has a removable cover for access after the valve is installed in the event replacement of the blade is required, or to clean out the valve or obtain a sample of the material. A two-way diverter valve with fully enclosed blades is disclosed in another embodiment.
