    • A dispenser for dispensing a fluid from a container T having an inlet for mounting to the container so as to receive therethrough the fluid, and an outlet which is adapted to open to release fluid therefrom when a predetermined pressure is applied to the fluid in the dispenser at the outlet, and to close to retain fluid in the dispenser at a pressure less than the predetermined pressure.     • A dispensing closure (1) incorporating a flexible, self-closing valve (5) and a transport seal for preventing accidential dispensing of product through the valve during transportation and storage of a filled container. The closure includes a cover (4), which is adapted to move axially between raised and lowered positions, to actuate the transport seal. The transport seal comprises a sealing plate (8), located between the valve and the container opening, which partially occludes the container opening but defines at least one dispensing orifice (9). To form the transport seal, the cover is lowered so that it presses part of the flexible valve against the sealing plate around the dispensing orifice/s, thereby blocking the dispensing passageway to the valve.

    • A cap for a bottle containing a carbonated beverage provides a dispensing mechanism that prevents carbonation gas from escaping from the bottle as the beverage is being dispensed. The cap has a housing with a first end adapted to mate with a neck of the bottle and an opening out of which beverage to be dispensed flows. A valve is mounted in the housing having a first end coupled in fluid communication with the bottle when the cap is on the bottle and a second end coupled in fluid communication to an outlet in the housing. A manually operated actuator is coupled to the valve for opening and closing the valve.

    • The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for selectively sealing and pouring a liquid from a container. The device includes a hollow vessel 11 having a sealingly attached lid 12. Lid 12 includes communicating deformable pout spouts 16,16a therethrough and an actuating mechanism comprising an actuator member 15, actuator button 14, a transverse actuator member 20 and appended pinch clamps 19 and 19a which, when the actuating mechanism is urged into the null or unactivated position clamps the deformable pour spouts thereby preventing liquid from escaping from the vessel. Conversely, in the actuated position, transverse actuator member 20 and pinch bars 19 and 19a are released and the flexible pour spouts 16 and 16a return to the undeformed position. The invention further includes a poppet valve 23 interposed through a pressure release passageway which permits the escape of gaseous pressure buildup within the vessel automatically while being seated and sealed upon the sensing of a specified level of liquid within the vessel. Accordingly, gaseous buildup of a significant pressure is freely and automatically permitted to escape while the device is effectively sealed upon tipping or inadvertent upending of the vessel.
