    • A harness-applied armoring member for inserting electric wires therein is provided, by which an interference between a harness for supplying electric power and a vehicle body is prevented from occurring when a slide door of the vehicle is opened or closed. The bending radius of the armoring member varies depending on the bending direction thereof. A plurality of pieces are connected in series, a bending angle between the pieces is controlled by a stopper, and the bending direction of a front half of the armoring member is set reverse to that of a rear half thereof. Alternatively, a plurality of convex strips in the circumferential direction of the armoring member and concave grooves between the adjacent convex strips are alternately arranged in the longitudinal direction of the armoring member with varying an inner width of the concave groove depending on the bending direction.

    • There are provided three periods of time immediately after an AC power-supply voltage is started to be applied to fixing heaters when the heater temperature falls below a target temperature: a first period for driving only a first heater; a second period for driving only a second heater following the first period; and a third period for driving the first and second heaters following the second period. During the first and second periods, the first and second heaters are thinning-controlled, respectively. At this time, at a cycle of 3 half-waves of the AC voltage applied to each fixing heater, a thinning frequency is changed from a large value to a smaller one. The third period includes first and second sub periods which are alternately repeated. In at least one of the first and second sub periods, the first and second heaters are thinning-controlled and the relation of the thinning controls of the two heaters is such that they are complementary to each other on the time axis.

    • When a fault occurs, a hot-standby cluster takes over the job of the cluster which is at fault, and the load distribution for each job of load-sharing clusters is changed, simplifying the processing for dealing with the fault.     • An ink-jet printer includes a rotary drum for carrying a print sheet, a print head arranged above the rotary drum for printing an image by ejecting ink onto the print sheet, a washing board facing the print head to wash an end surface of the print head with ink ejected from the print head, and a control unit for controlling at a non-printing time the washing board to be set at a cleaning position located between the print head and the rotary drum and the print head to eject ink therefrom.
