    • The invention relates to an imaging method, especially a computerized tomography method, with which an object is penetrated by rays from different directions and measured values, which depend upon the intensity of the rays after penetrating the object, are acquired by a detector unit. From these measured values, an object image is reconstructed by means of back projection of measured-value-dependent back projection values. Therein, the object image is divided into overlapping, quasi-spherically symmetric image segments, each being defined by an image value and a quasi-spherically symmetric base function. Furthermore, during the back projection, the back projection values are added in proportions to the image values, wherein the proportion of a back projection value, which is added during the back projection to an image value, is dependent on a proportionality factor, which is equal to the average value of the line integrals of the base function belonging to the respective image value along those rays that have generated the measured value, on which the respective back projection value is dependent.

    • Controlled local application of drugs to a certain part of a body of a patient may be of major importance during a cardiac CT scan. By transporting the drugs in containers which prevent an application of the drugs and by rupturing only those containers which are located in the vicinity of the part of the body of a patient to which the drugs have to be applied, a local application of the drugs may be performed. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the rupturing and therefore the application of the drugs may be triggered by a monitoring algorithm which evaluates changes in the heart beat rate of the patient. Advantageously, the method allows for a local delivery of the drugs on a fine time scale and therefore for a fast control of the heart beat rate during the CT scan.

    • The invention relates to a computed tomography method for forming images of an object to be examined which is arranged in an examination zone. The examination zone is scanned by means of a conical X-ray beam. In order to enable images having a high image quality to be formed from a selected imaging zone while making an as small as possible computational effort, the invention proposes the following steps: a) selecting an imaging zone of the object to be examined, b) determining the sub-regions of the X-ray detector on which the imaging zone of the object to be examined is projected during the acquisition of the projection data, c) forming sub-projection data by selecting the projection data associated with the sub-regions from the acquired projection data, and d) reconstructing the desired image from the sub-projection data by backprojection.
