The remote units (3) include, as a transmitter for the optical signals, a laser (7) of a construction similar or somewhat identical to that of the other lasers (7). The lasers (7) have similar or somewhat identical nominal wavelengths (λN), and the individual lasers (7) are selected by adjusting their operating temperatures (TD1-TD4) in such a way that each laser transmits on a different transmission wavelength (λü1-λü4).

    • The sensor network may include a location capture processing unit; and a plurality of sensors in communication with the location capture processing unit. Each sensor of the plurality of sensors includes a controller and a RF receiver configured to receive RF signals. The RF receiver is in communication with the controller. A localization engine is configured to receive beacon signals transmitted by other sensors in the sensor network. The localization engine is in communication with the controller. The controller of each of the plurality of sensors is further configured to determine a position of its respective sensor using either RF receiver or localization engine or both. The plurality of sensors communicates their position to the location capture processing unit.

    • A system and method for providing assistance data to a wireless device. A location request may be received for the wireless device, the location request identifying location information for the wireless device. A reference location for the wireless device may then be determined as a function of a comparison of the location information and a region determined as a function of at least one of a mobile country code (“MCC”), mobile network code (“MNC”), and an Area-Identification (“Area-ID”), such as a location area code (“LAC”) or a Radio Network Controller-Identification (“RNC-ID”). Assistance data may be provided to the wireless device as a function of the determined reference location.

    • A panel array antenna has a waveguide network coupling an input feed to a plurality of primary coupling cavities. Each of the primary coupling cavities is provided with four output ports, each of the output ports coupled to a horn radiator. The waveguide network is provided on a second side of an input layer and a first side of a first intermediate layer. The primary coupling cavities are provided on a second side of the first intermediate layer and the output ports provided on a first side of an output layer, each of the output ports in communication with one of the horn radiators. The horn radiators are provided as an array of horn radiators on a second side of the output layer. Additional layers, such as a second intermediate layer and/or slot layer, may also be applied, for example to further simplify the waveguide network and/or rotate the polarization.

    • A system and method selects secondary base stations to task that provide geo-location information used to geo-locate a mobile station. A network overlay location system may be co-located at base station sites of a wireless communications network. The location measurement units of the network overlay system provide location information of the mobile station, which may be determined via one or more geo-location techniques, for example: time of arrival (TOA), time difference of arrival (TDOA), uplink time difference of arrival (UTDOA), angle of arrival (AOA), signal power, radio fingerprinting etc. Selecting secondary base stations to task using various selection criteria may provide optimum results when geo-locating a mobile station.
