摘要： An element (e.g., a sensor) has a fine-line thin film of a conductor formed on a non-conductive substrate, and a change of physical properties (e.g., deformation) of the substrate or the ambient environment is detected through a change in physical properties of the conductor. The element is manufactured by forming a layered film, composed of a semiconductor and a conductor, on the substrate, and forcibly diffusing part of this film, e.g., by selective irradiation with high-energy ions, to form this part into an alloy semi-conductor, thereby providing a two-dimensional pattern of the fine lines of the conductor and the semiconductor. By arranging a plurality of fine lines of a conductor transversely to a direction of growth of a crack in the substrate, crack in the substrate is detected through a change in electrical resistance of the fine lines. A dissolved oxygen sensor, a hydrogen sensor, and an electrical conductivity sensor (of an ambient medium) can also be provided. To control water chemistry of a reactor, an amount of a water chemistry improving agent injected is controlled in accordance with an output of a water chemistry measurement sensor provided in water in a pressure vessel of the reactor. One or more of a dissolved oxygen sensor, a hydrogen sensor and an electrical conductivity sensor are formed directly on a surface of a structural material of the reactor.

摘要： A method and a measuring device for localizing a damage in a dielectric corrosion resistant layer of a pipe line are described, especially for an enameled pipe line, through which an electrolytically conducting fluid is passed. Localization is achieved by performing a potential difference measurement between two electrodes arranged at the begining and at the end of a supervised region along the length of the pipe line, to which preferably a constant current source is connected, the positive terminal of which is connected with the carrier material of the pipe line and the negative terminal of which is connected with the two electrodes. 摘要： A transient electromagnetic apparatus for use in detecting irregularities on conductive walls of containers forms a multichannel distributed system and includes at least one transmitting antenna, at least one transmitter unit, plural receiving antennas, plural receiver units, and a computer for controlling the transmitter and receiver units. The receiver units each include elements that suppress noise in the received signals. Each receiver unit has a preamplifier, first and second low pass Bessel type filters, a gain ranging amplifier, and an A/D converter. The gain ranging amplifier receives feedback from the output of the A/D converter and provides increased small signal resolution. Each receiver unit also rejects common mode noise with a choke and balanced input impedances in the preamplifier. The apparatus allows an arbitrary number of receiving antennas, receiver units, and even transmitting antennas, and transmitting units, so that the apparatus can be configured to a variety of containers. Each receiver unit has control logic for controlling the electronics therein and memory for storing data for transfer to the computer. The apparatus includes a median filter for filtering out sferics noise.

The electrical potential difference between two points, respectively upstream and downstream of the spot weld along the current path, is measured with a second pair of electrodes. In particular, this second pair of electrodes is used to carry out at least one first measurement before the application of the current, and at least one second measurement during the application of the current. These measurements are carried out at two instants separated by a time interval equal to or a whole multiple of the period of the main power voltage. The difference between the values measured in the first and second measurements provides an indication of the quality of the spot weld.
