    • A fluorescent lamp ballast is provided which is uniquely suited to automated manufacture and assembly. The versatile ballast construction includes primary and lag coil bobbins each having substantially planar flanges at their respective ends, with a magnetic core having portions disposed inside and on opposite sides of the bobbins. A primary coil is wound on the primary coil bobbin, and a lag coil is wound on the lag coil bobbin, the coils having starts, taps and finishes. Each bobbin flange has a plurality of holes extending inwardly from an outer flange edge, with conductive pins partially inserted into a number of the flange end holes, each of the pins being electrically coupled to one of the coil starts, taps and finishes. A planar elongated printed circuit board whose length and width dimensions are approximately the same as that of the bobbins positioned end-to-end, is part of the ballast assembly. The circuit board has a predetermined pattern of holes therethrough, the holes being electrically coupled in a predetermined pattern by conductive strips on the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is attached substantially perpendicular to and in contact with each of the conductive pin-bearing flange edges, each of the conductive pins extending through one of the holes through the printed circuit board and also being electrically coupled to the printed circuit board conductive strip adjacent the hole through which each respective conductive pin passes.

    • An ignition coil (1) for internal combustion engines comprises a magnetic core (4) of the core- of sleeve type, around the main core of which the primary and secondary winding being insulatingly enveloped with a cast material is arranged, the end regions of the main core being connected with each other via a magnetic path located outside the two windings, and having mounting members attached to the magnetic core (4) for mounting the ignition coil (1) to an automobile body. In order to bring the heating of the windings to an equal level and to reduce the heating of the windings, the mounting members are formed of a mounting plate (8) with mounting surface (9) and of at least one frame member (10, 11) integrally formed with the mounting plate (8) which envelopes the magnetic core (4) in a form-locking manner. The frame members (10, 11) can be expediently placed for mounting angularly on the ignition coil (1) and are pivotable in abutment with the surface of the magnetic core (4).

    • An inductance element of the type that includes a coil bobbin having flanges at the ends thereof, a pair of pot cores engaging the bobbin, and a fastening member for fastening together the pot cores and bobbin. At least one of the bobbin flanges includes a joining part that extends outwardly from the bobbin flange and engages both the adjacent one of the pot cores and the fastening member to prevent relative rotation of the bobbin and adjacent pot core and fastening member.
