    • A medallion-style blade iron assembly for use on a ceiling fan includes a vibration isolation system for eliminating transmission of vibration from the fan motor to the blades. The assembly includes an arm securable to the fan motor and medallion securable to the arm, with the distal end of a blade being secured therebetween. A plurality of mounting holes are provided in the blade for allowing screws to be inserted through the arm into the medallion, with each hole have a resilient elastomeric grommet disposed therein. Each grommet has a pair of annular shoulders resting on the top and bottom surfaces of the blade, and a central tapered opening for receiving the frusto-conical bosses formed on the arm and medallion. The grommets prevent contact between the blade, the arm, and the medallion.

    • The invention concerns a structure for mounting a fan to a fan motor. The structure is designed to fit a plurality of thrust washers onto the end of a motor shaft supported in a casing through a bearing and to thrust and fit a flat washer on a peripheral surface of a smaller diameter step formed on the tip side further than the washers-fitted section. Of these thrust washers, the most outer, tip side, thrust washer located opposite to the flat washer is thicker than the traveling play distance toward the core of a motor shaft and thinner than the interval from the adjacent thrust washer to the peripheral surface of the step. With the construction, hence, the invention serves to prevent the thrust washer from falling onto the smaller diameter step.

    • An improved blade mounting arrangement for a gas turbine engine with a turbine and an annular flowpath therethrough is disclosed. The improvement comprises a one-piece outer casing and a one-piece inner casing bounding the flowpath. The outer casing has a plurality of circumferential recesses disposed therein with each of the recesses having first and second axially opposite circumferential slots. A plurality of first turbine blades, each with axially facing tangs on a mounting platform, mate with the slots in the outer casing recess. The inner casing has a plurality of recesses disposed therein, each of the recesses including a forward circumferential slot and concentric aft radially outer and radially inner circumferential slots. A plurality of second turbine blades, each with forward and aft axially facing tangs on a mounting platform, mate with respective ones of forward slot and radially outer slot in the inner casing recess.

    • A system for fabricating fan blades wherein the assembly includes a flat hub plate having generally radially oriented notches defined therein intersecting the plate periphery. Individual blades each include a hub connection portion adjacent an inner end region which includes parallel flat portions angularly related to the general blade configuration interconnected by a transition portion. The flat blade portions are located upon opposite sides of the hub plate and the transition portion extends through the hub plate notch. The flat portions are attached to the hub plate, and by predetermining the position of the hub connection configuration on the blade, the fan characteristics can be predetermined and accurately duplicated. The system permits a standard set of tools to form a variety of sizes of fan blade components having various characteristics.

    • A cooling fan and hub support for a vehicle with reversible blades is disclosed. The fan has a hub support comprising an outer ring having inwardly extending projections and an inwardly directed flange. Each blade has a stem received in a hole in one of the projections. An inner retaining ring which has outwardly extending projections is supported concentric with the outer ring. A helical spring is received in each of the projections and extends into a blind hole in each stem and the inner end of the spring rests on a retaining ring. The outer ring has spaced holes for attaching it to an engine shaft. The retaining ring has convolutions which curve outwardly around each of the spaced holes and have an arcuate circumferential part that supports each inner end of a spring.
