    • A double lift, open shed Jacquard machine in which the lifting knives of two sets of lifting knives which are to be moved in opposite directions are linked at their ends to oscillating shafts by lever arrangements. The oscillating shafts are mounted in the machine frame and are pivoted via a form-locking connection to the eccentric of an eccentric gear. The rotating shaft of the eccentric gear is coupled with a driving motor. The oscillating shafts can be mounted by supports along their length in the machine frame. In this manner the masses to be moved can be substantially reduced with a simple constructional design and furthermore assembly is facilitated.

    • The jacquard selection system employs a slider between each multimorphous bending element and jacquard needle to absorb the stress imposed by the needle during a sensing operation. The sliders move within a guide in which they are spaced from the walls of the guide with a clearance. When a needle is to be blocked so as to sense a position of a bending element, the slider is moved by the bending element into the path of the needle so that, on moving, the needle abuts the slider and pushes the slider against the guide wall. The sliders may be mounted on the bending elements by springs or may be movable therewith via a recess which receives the free end or a resilient tip on the free end of the bending elements.

    • The invention is directed to harness board module coupling means for coupling such modules together to form a harness board of desired dimensions. A central retention means arranged to receive and retain therein harnessing aids is bounded on at least one of its four edges by a framing member to which is coupled a coupling means whereby similar harness board modules may be coupled one to another. The coupling members may be in the form of hermaphroditic hooks such that adjacent modules are placed in inverted relationship one to another. Magnets may be used as a coupling means, or by the use of dovetail slots, within the framing members and appropriately shaped coupling pins, respective modules may be coupled to one another. The framing member may be applied to the edges of the retention means by employing adhesive means or by the use of barbed projections engaging themselves within the surface of the retention means. Attentively, the framing member may also include extending portions which overlie a portion of the surface of the retention means providing complete framing for the retention means.
