    • An electrophotographic sensitive material is described having an electrophotographic sensitive layer containing a charge generating material and a charge transfer material, wherein said charge generating material comprises a barbituric acid derivative or thiobarbituric acid derivative represented by formula (I) or (II) ##STR1## wherein (i) X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom(ii) R.sup.1 represents an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group or a substituted amino group represented by ##STR2## wherein R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 each represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group or phenyl group, or R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 together represent a group forming a nitrogen atom-containing heterocyclic ring,(iii) R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, or a lower alkoxy group,(iv) R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group,(v) R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each represents an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group, and(v) R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each represents an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group, and(vi) Ar represents a group selected from those represented by the formulas ##STR3## wherein Y and Z each represents S, O or N--R.sup.12, wherein R.sup.12 represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, or R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 together represent a group forming a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring, and R.sup.11, represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a halogen atom, a monoalkylamino group, a dialkylamino group, an amide group, or a nitro group.

    • A cyclone type particle separator comprising a lower cone with a particle outlet, an intermediate cylinder and an upper truncated cone. An inlet is opened at the intermediate cylinder tangentially or involutedly thereof and adjacent to the upper end of the lower cone so that the particle-laden gas can freely spiral upward in the intermediate cylinder and the upper truncated cone while the particles separated drop into the lower cone. The top wall of the upper truncated cone is spaced apart from the inlet by a suitable distance, and upper particle trapping chambers are extended tangentially and outwardly from the upper truncated cone and is contiguous with the top wall so that the particles separated in the upper truncated cone adjacent to the top wall thereof can be trapped and collected in the upper trapping chambers.
