The digital broadcasting transmission device includes a randomizer which randomizes a dual transport stream including a normal stream and a robust stream, a supplementary reference signal inserter which inserts a certain supplementary reference signal into a stuffing region included in the randomized dual transport stream, a Reed-Solomon (RS) encoder which adds a parity into a parity region included in the dual transport stream, a robust processor which configures a new dual transport stream by convolution-encoding the robust stream among the dual transport stream, an interleaver which interleaves the configured dual transport stream, a trellis encoder which trellis-encode the interleaved dual transport stream, and a modulator which transmits the trellis-encoded dual transport stream. Accordingly, a sub-channel can be provided in which the robust data and the supplementary reference signal will be transmitted.

摘要： A trellis encoding device includes a plurality of trellis encoders to perform trellis-encoding of a transport stream into which a supplementary reference signal (SRS) has been inserted, and performs a memory reset in a region that precedes an SRS; and a parity compensation unit to compensate for parities of the transport stream in accordance with values stored in memories included in the trellis encoders. The plurality of trellis encoders may be implemented in diverse types. The trellis encoding device can perform a memory reset selectively using the stored value of the memory and the inverted value thereof, or selectively using the stored value of the memory and a fixed value. By properly resetting the memory in processing the transport stream into which the SRS has been inserted, DC offset can be reduced.

A digital broadcasting transmitter comprises a randomizer to input and randomize data streams including a plurality of segments having at least one segment having one or more null packets, a null packet exchanger to create known data having a predetermined pattern and to replace the null packets at positions of the segments having the null packets of the randomized data streams to insert the known ‘data, an encoder to encode the data streams to which the known data is inserted, and a modulation/RF unit to modulate, RF-modulate, and transmit the encoded data streams. A digital broadcasting receiver detects the known data’ from a signal received from the digital broadcasting transmitter and uses the detected known data for synchronization and equalization, so that a digital broadcasting reception performance of the digital broadcasting receiver can be improved at poor multipath channels.

Accordingly, the present invention detects the known data from a signal received from a reception side and uses the detected known data for synchronization and equalization and further uses the TRS parity for correcting error of the received signal, so that the digital broadcasting reception performance can be improved at poor multipath channels.
