    • A downlight reflector assembly for a light-emitting diode (LED) light source includes a kicker reflector and an upper scoop. The kicker reflector has a reflector wall extending between a small top opening and a large bottom opening along a transverse axis. The reflector wall has an internal surface with an illuminated area and a non-illuminated area. The upper scoop is mounted in the small top opening of the kicker reflector and has a reflective multi-faceted surface with a concave curvature relative to the LED light source. The upper scoop extends from the top opening in part along the transverse axis and covering a portion of the top opening. The multi-faceted surface faces both of the illuminated area of the kicker reflector and the top opening for reflecting light rays received through the top opening towards the illuminated area.

    • An optical element is provided having an asymmetric body with a base cavity for receiving a light source, and outer sides providing total internal reflection, and a front face tilted so that the optical element's optical axis is at an oblique angle with respect to a target surface. Curvatures along cavity surfaces and outer sides are selected to output illumination from the body's front face having a distribution extending along the target surface's height and at least a portion of the width thereof having increased intensity with increasing height to provide at least substantially uniform illumination along the target surface's height. One or more optical elements may be in an apparatus, and multiple apparatuses may be disposed in front of one edge of a target surface and spaced from each other to provide the target surface with at least substantially uniform oblique illumination.

    • Disclosed herein are an illumination unit and an illumination system. The illumination unit includes a first reflector, a second reflector, a light source module arranged between the first reflector and the second reflector, and a supporting member for supporting the second reflector. The supporting member includes first and second inclined surfaces arranged adjacent to each other at opposite sides of an inflection point. The supporting member has a distance of 15 to 50 mm between a first horizontal line horizontally passing through the inflection point and a second horizontal line horizontally passing through an end of the first inclined surface or an end of the second inclined surface. The supporting member includes projections having asymmetrical side surfaces opposing each other. The height ratio between the side surfaces of the supporting member is 1:1.01 to 80 or 1.01 to 80:1.
