摘要： An apparatus and method for enhancing the security of a cluster box unit which includes a protective enclosure, internal cabinetry, door, hinge and locking system. The cluster box unit may also include outgoing mail compartment doors that are heavily constructed and rigidly reinforced, with the locks carried thereon protectively shielded, and with the extensible bolts of these locks being engaged by brackets that not only lock the outgoing mail compartment doors but also the master loading doors of the cluster box units. The cluster box unit may also include master loading doors are provided with hinges that extend the full height of the doors—hinges that are defined by pivotally interfitting elements of extrusions that very sturdily mount the master loading doors, that prevent prying or bending the doors in the vicinities of their hinges. The interfitting elements of the hinge extrusions also permit the doors to be installed on their surrounding door frames quickly and easily, and permit one or both of the master loading doors to be quickly and easily removed for service or replacement when necessary.

摘要： A mailbox includes opposing side pieces, a bottom piece, a rear piece, and a door, all made from die-cast aluminum. The side pieces include abutting top flanges and the mailbox further includes a channel engaging the top flanges to hold the top flanges together. Screws extend through the channel into threaded engagement with the top flanges, and also extend through apertures into apertured bosses to secure all components together. Address signage (sand-cast) is provided for selective attachment to the sides, door or top of the mailbox. The door is pivotally mounted to the mailbox by a pivot pin that telescopingly extends into holes in the side pieces to facilitate assembly.

摘要： Delivery items ordered over the Internet by a particular time in the early evening may be delivered by the next morning to a location within a 5-6 hour delivery radius of a warehouse, according to one specific aspect of the present invention. The order for the delivery items is filled at the warehouse, where the items are placed in a tote for delivery. The filled tote is placed on a movable rack, which is transferred to a vehicle. At the delivery destination, the driver removes the tote and secures it via a system of one or more chains and/or cables which are contained in a delivery box which is secured outside the delivery destination. Later, the customer can unlock the chains from the tote in order to bring the tote inside and/or to remove the delivery items from the tote.

摘要： An electronic access control mailbox system comprises a plurality of mail box stations. Each station consists of a locker of mail box compartments each having a door with electrically controllable solenoid operated latch, a card reader, and a local controller electrically coupled to the solenoid of each compartment door. A central controller is in electrical communication with the card reader and the local controller of each mail box station. Identification data read at the card reader of each mail box station is communicated to the central controller for processing and the central controller in turn communicates a command to the local controller for controlling operation of the solenoid operated latches of each compartment door in response to the identification data road. The system offers secure electronic access to the mail boxes which are under centralized control and monitoring.
