摘要： A firefighter garment including melamine high-heat and flame resistant fibers that have been stock dyed to obtain a desired shade or color. The stock dyed fiber is preferably blended with another fiber and the blend spun, by ring or core spinning, into a yarn for use in a protective fabric. Fabric produced by employing a blend of stock dyed melamine fibers and other high temperature fibers offers numerous cost and performance advantages. The elimination of the damage associated with the piece dyeing process allows the fabric to increase its strength and tear characteristics without affecting its thermal performance.

摘要： A velour fabric article consists of a fabric body having a technical face formed by a filament stitch yarn and a technical back formed by a loop yarn. The filament stitch yarn includes a heat sensitive material, e.g. a hot melt material or a heat shrinkable material, and/or an elastomeric material, such as spandex. The loop yarn includes flame retardant material, such as M-Aramide fiber. The fabric body has a velour surface formed at one or both of the technical back and the technical face. Raised fibers of at least one of the technical face and the technical back may be entangled, including in and/or through interstices of the fabric body, toward the other of the technical face and the technical back, e.g., by a hydroentanglement process applied after finishing. The fabric body has permeability of about 90 ft3/ft2/min, or less, under a pressure difference of null inch of water across the fabric body.

摘要： A textile tubing comprises inner and outer coatings, and a material made of warp and weft threads manufactured from high tensile strength and high modular strength fibers (high performance fibers) disposed between the coatings. The warp threads are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the tubing and the weft threads are arranged in the circumferential direction of the tubing. The inner and outer coatings are made of a thermolastic synthetic material. The weft thread width is at least 8,000 decitex (dtex) and, preferably, more than 10,000 dtex. The warp thread width is at least 2,000 dtex and, preferably, more than 3,000 dtex. The weft density is at least 40 and preferably more than 50. The textile tubing is especially suitable for cleaning high pressure liquid lines. The textile tubing does not have to be stuck to large surface areas of the inner wall of a pipe due to its high burst pressure of more than 90 bar. The nominal pressure of the old pipes can be substantially increased by the cleaning procedure.

摘要： A core crush resistant prepreg for use in making a fiber reinforced composite panel structure is provided. The prepreg comprises a woven fabric consisting essentially of carbon fiber tow strands impregnated with a hardenable polymeric resin composition. Typically the fabric has an areal weight of from about 180 to about 205 grams per square meter. The prepreg has an average fiber tow aspect ratio of less than about 15.4, a prepreg thickness of at least about 0.245 mm, and a prepreg openness of at least about 1.2 percent but less than about 6.0 percent. Preferably, the resin composition is predominantly viscous in nature and has a tan &dgr; value of between 0.9 and 2.0 at an elevated temperature between 70° C. and 140° C., and an average epoxy functionality of greater than 2.0. A method for evaluating core crush resistance properties of a prepreg is also provided. The method includes determining a fiber tow average aspect ratio of the prepreg, determining a prepreg thickness, and comparing said average fiber tow aspect ratio and prepreg thickness to a set of predetermined values.

摘要： A coated woven textile fabric is disclosed which is formed of synthetic yarns of more than one denier preferably synthetic filamentary yarns of differing deniers. A polymeric coating such as polyurethane is layered on at least one side thereof, but may also be provided on both sides. The combination of yarns of different deniers provides a superior adhesion surface for the polymeric coating. The yarns and the polymeric coating are preselected respectively in deniers and thickness so as to render the fabric substantially impermeable to fluid under pressure, while maintaining superb packageability and antiblocking properties for use in vehicle occupant restraint systems. A flexible lightweight air bag for receiving and containing fluid under pressure for use in a vehicle air restraint system is also disclosed, incorporating the woven textile fabric of the invention.

摘要： The inventive method provides highly desirable hand to various different types of fabrics through the initial immobilization of individual fibers within target fabrics and subsequent treatment through abrasion, sanding, or napping of at least a portion of the target fabric. Such a procedure includes nullnickingnull the immobilized fibers thereby permitting the fibers to produce a substantially balanced strength of the target fabric in the fill and warp directions while also providing the same degree of hand improvements as obtained with previous methods. Furthermore, this process also provides the unexpected improvement of non-pilling to synthetic fibers as the nullnickingnull of the immobilized fibers results in the lack of unraveling of fibers and thus the near impossibility of such fibers balling together to form unwanted pills on the fabric surface. Fabrics treated by this process are also contemplated within this invention.
