    • A moulded electrofusion fitting (10) for connection to a plastics pipeline, comprises a hollow body (16) formed with a tubular opening that has a longitudinal axis (82) and is adapted to receive an end of the pipeline as a close sliding fit. An electrofusion element (22) is formed in the internal surface (52c) in the opening, spaced from its end (52b). Fingers (52) are on the end of the opening, circumferentially spaced around the opening and separated by slots (53) between them. Cam surfaces in the form of ribs (60) are defined on the fingers, and a grip ring (50) is received on the fingers and includes wedge elements in the form of grooves (62). These are adapted to fit the ribs so that, when a pipeline is inserted in the opening and the grip ring is rotated about said axis, the ribs and grooves engage to press the fingers radially inwardly against the reaction of the grip ring whereby, said pipe is gripped by said grip ring and centralised in the opening. The grip ring may be integrated with a terminal pin (24), a bayonet slot (106) of the grip ring accommodating the terminal pin, a shroud boss (27′) formed on the grip ring around the base of the bayonet slot.

    • A quick connector coupling comprising a connector body, a primary retainer, a secondary retainer and a male member having a radially enlarged upset. The connector body includes a stem and a separate cap permanently secured to the stem. The stem defines an axially extending through bore and includes an annular rib located radially outward of the bore. The cap defines an annular groove located radially outward of the bore. The annular rib of the stem is positioned in the annular groove of the cap. The cap is spin welded to the stem to permanently secure the cap to the stem. The connector body further defines two annular abutment surfaces. The primary retainer and the secondary retainer are located axially in between the two annular abutment surfaces of the connector body. The primary retainer has a ring and two primary retainer arm located axially forward of the ring. Each primary retainer arm is in abutting relationship with the upset. The secondary retainer has a ring and two secondary retainer arms located axially rearward of the ring. Each secondary retainer arm is located circumferentially in between two primary retainer arms and in abutting relationship with the upset.

    • An apparatus for connecting and cutting tubular cores (1) for supporting rolls of wound material comprising a loading station (80), comprising a rolling cradle consisting of two parallel and horizontal rollers (10 and 11), a star-shaped driven supplier (4), having, for example, four continuous protrusions (2) that allow to load tubular cores of different lengths. The rollers (10 and 11) of the rolling cradle are arranged along a longitudinal direction (16). The apparatus comprises a pusher (5) that acts against a rear end of the core (1), once it has been loaded on the rolling cradle (10, 11), in order to bring a front end of a loaded core in a connecting station (60) where it is present the rear end of a core portion to connect, loaded previously. The pusher (5) comprises an approaching element (9) with vertical idle rollers (7 and 8). Downstream of the loading station (80) a taping station (60) is present and a transmission roller (62) bridging the two cores is capable of transmitting the moving rotation between the core portion and the core. A conveying station (50) a cutting station (30) and a sliding suction abutment (70) are present downstream. The apparatus has the peripheral dragging means (30) equipped with a device for transmitting a number of rotations suitable for causing said core and said core portion to rotate for a predetermined number of turns.
