摘要： A magnetic bead trap-and-mixer includes a channel having openings at opposing ends, and a rotor adjacent to the channel and comprising a permanent magnet, wherein the rotor is adapted to apply a magnetic field to the channel of sufficient strength to direct the movement of magnetic beads therein. In aspects, the channel is straight and/or has narrowed end. In further aspects, the rotor generates in the channel areas of areas of strong magnetic fields alternating with areas of very weak magnetic fields and the strong magnetic fields extend entirely across the channel.

摘要： A system for at least one of homogenization and lysis of a sample includes one or more walls forming an enclosed chamber, a permanent magnet within the enclosed chamber, a magnet guide, and one or more magnets located outside the chamber. The enclosed chamber has an inlet and one or more fluidic connections configured to introduce at least the sample into the chamber. The permanent magnet has a positive pole and a negative pole. The magnet guide is configured to laterally guide the permanent magnet between a first position and a second position and maintain a substantially constant orientation of the permanent magnet during the movement. Movement of the magnets outside the chamber changes a magnetic field between the one or more magnets and the permanent magnet. The permanent magnet moves between the first and second positions in response to the changing magnetic field.

Use of this feature in completely rigid vessels where the fluid-agitating element is free of direct attachment from a first receiver having an oversized portion is also disclosed. In another aspect, the vessel or bag further includes a second receiver for receiving a portion of an external structure, such as a motive device, and aligning the vessel relative thereto.

摘要： An automatic wine stirrer is adapted for aerating wine contained in an open vessel. The wine stirrer comprises a housing, and a fan assembly operatively mounted within the housing. The fan assembly comprises a rotatable hub, a plurality of fan blades attached to the hub, and an electric motor. At least one magnet is carried by the fan assembly. When the rotatable hub is substantially stopped, the magnet attracts and holds a ferromagnetic stir bar located inside the wine vessel. When the rotatable hub starts, the magnet rotates relative to the housing thereby rotating the stir bar and substantially swirling the wine contained in the wine vessel.

摘要： A cleanser dispenser having a container, an inner magnet, an outer magnet, is disclosed. Liquid cleansers without emulsifying agents tend to separate into two phases, a thick hydrophobic top phase and a more fluid hydrophilic bottom phase. To create a dispensable cleanser without chemical emulsifiers, a user can manually disrupt and mix the two phases together by moving an outer magnet along the outside of the container, which attracts an inner magnet disposed within the container. As the inner magnet moves along the inner surface of the container, the thick top phase breaks apart and becomes suspended within the bottom phase, thereby creating a uniform hydrophobic and hydrophilic liquid cleanser suspension that can easily be pumped through a liquid cleanser dispenser. The inner magnet may have one or more protrusions to aid in breaking apart the thick hydrophobic top phase.
