    • Some interface signals are selected from among signals of a plurality of different parallel interfaces, then being multiplexed onto a serial connection. A transmitter of a signal transmission system includes an interface-signal selector IFS, and a transfer programmer TP for issuing a control signal to instruct the selection from among the parallel interfaces. The transfer programmer TP implements the multiplexing of the selected interface signals in such a manner that the specification of the parallel interfaces is satisfied. Also, the transfer programmer TP changes, as occasion requires, the control signal to instruct which interfaces to select. This change allows the interface signals to be multiplexed onto the serial connection while dynamically changing the interface signals to be multiplexed.

    • Provided is a method of controlling a bar supplying apparatus capable of automatically setting a timing of opening a run-out preventing chuck, a timing of cutting a bar short, and a timing of replacing the bar by the minimum input work. A controller 115 of an NC lathe 110 extracts length data (1) of a product and dimensional data (s) of a cutting width from a machining program, calculates the position of a feeder 123 on the basis of those data, and controls supply of a bar W to bar supporting units 128a to 128c, opening/closing of run-out preventing chucks 129a to 129d, and feeding and replacement of the bar W on the basis of the position of the feeder 123.

    • A retaining structure of a front holder and a connector housing, essentially consist of a housing body having a retaining portion, a holding arm having a retaining projection, and a flexible connection portion for supporting the holding arm so that the retaining projection can be engaged with the retaining portion, wherein the flexible connection portion supports the holding arm on a front end of the flexible connection portion in an inserting direction of the front holder into a housing body with respect to the retaining projection, the retaining projection is engaged with the retaining portion in a state where the front holder is retained to the housing body. If a force is applied in a direction releasing the engagement between the front holder and the housing body, the retaining projection abuts against the retaining portion so that the holding arm tries to rock in a direction opposite from the direction releasing the engagement. Therefore, the retained state between the front holder and the housing body is maintained.

    • A connector housing has a lock arm for locking a terminal therein. The lock arm deflects in an complete insertion state of the terminal so that a spacer abuts against a side surface of the lock arm. The lock arm is formed with a projection which abuts the incompletely inserted terminal in the spacer advancing direction. The projection may be a plate piece elongated in the longitudinal direction of the lock to be pinched by a pair of a resilient contact plates of the terminal. Alternatively, the lock arm may have a protrusion engaging with an engagement hole formed in the connector housing. The protrusion is a rectangular plate extending from the fore end of the lock arm. An inclined guide surface continuos with the engagement hole may be provided in the connector housing. Alternatively, the connector housing may have an inner embossed wall positioned closely to the deflected lock arm to oppose to the spacer. A clearance between the embossed wall and the lock arm is determined within the elastic deflection limit of the lock arm.
