    • Methods and systems for dynamically tuning and calibrating an antenna using on-chip digitally controlled array of capacitors are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include dynamically tuning a mobile terminal antenna (MTA) using on-chip arrays of capacitive devices. The tuning may be, for example, to compensate for center frequency drift during operation of the mobile terminal. The tuning may be accomplished by selecting capacitive devices in the on-chip arrays of capacitive devices to use in conjunction with an inductive circuit coupled to the MTA, where the inductive circuit may be either off the chip or on the chip. Accordingly, an impedance of the circuit formed by the capacitive devices in the on-chip arrays of capacitive devices and the inductive circuit may be adjusted with respect to the MTA. A valid circuit configuration may include a configuration where no capacitive device may be selected for use with the inductive circuit.

    • Methods and systems for wireless communication are disclosed herein and may include sampling a portion of a transmitted wireless signal which gets coupled to receiver circuitry in a receive chain during transmission via an antenna. The DC level corresponding to the sampled portion of the transmitted wireless signal may be measured. The transmit power corresponding to the transmitted wireless signal may be adjusted based on the measured DC level. The antenna may include a mobile antenna, which may be coupled to a wireless terminal. The sampled portion of the transmitted wireless signal may be buffered. The buffered portion of the transmitted wireless signal may be multiplied with the transmitted wireless signal to generate a multiplied signal, and the DC level may be measured using the multiplied signal. A control signal may be generated based on the measured DC level and, for example, a look-up table.

    • Certain embodiments of the invention may be found in a method and system for minimizing power consumption in a communication system. Exemplary aspects of the invention may comprise configuring a supply voltage of an amplifier to enable communication of data using a first communication protocol during a first timeslot in a TDM frame, reconfiguring the supply voltage of the amplifier to enable communication of data using a different communication protocol, and adjusting the supply voltage of the amplifier in proportion to the envelope of a baseband signal conforming to one of the communication protocols. The first and second communication protocols may conform to various communication protocols, such as WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUDPA, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WiMAX, OFDM, UWB, ZigBee, and Bluetooth. The baseband signal may be delayed by a number of samples before being input into the amplifier.

    • Methods and systems for diversity processing based on antenna switching are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include switching among a plurality of antennas in a multi-antenna wireless terminal to receive packets. An antenna may receive a number of packets before switching to another antenna, where the number of packets may be pre-determined or dynamically determined. The received packets may be diversity processed where portions of a plurality of the received packets may be combined to form a single data packet. Similarly, antenna switching may also be used to transmit packets. For example, a data packet may be apportioned to a plurality of packets, and each of those packets may be transmitted via the antennas. Accordingly, if the number of packets to transmit is one, each antenna may transmit one packet, and the antenna switching may select another antenna with which to transmit a packet.
