    • A level shift circuit has a driving circuit and an output circuit.     • A buck-boost converter includes: a buck converter section including a first switch, a first rectifier, and an inductor; a boost converter section sharing the inductor and including a second switch, a second rectifier, and a smoothing circuit; and a control circuit for generating and outputting a first driving signal for opening and closing the first switch and a second driving signal for opening and closing the second switch. The control circuit includes:an error amplifier circuit for amplifying an error between an output value from the smoothing circuit and a predetermined voltage value to thereby generate and output an error signal; an oscillator circuit for generating and outputting a triangular wave signal having a predetermined cycle; a compensatory signal generation circuit for generating and outputting a compensatory signal, which oscillates in a cycle that is at least twice the cycle of the triangular wave signal; a control signal generation circuit for adding together the error signal and the compensatory signal to thereby generate and output a control signal; and a comparator circuit for comparing the triangular wave signal with the control signal to generate and output the first or second driving signal.

    • A method of regulating an output voltage by utilizing a switching regulator, where the switching regulator includes a high side switch, a low side switch having an active diode, a controller coupled to the high side switch and the low side switch, and a current measuring circuit coupled to the high side switch. The method includes the steps of: measuring the output voltage and if the output voltage is below a desired level, activating the high side switch so as to provide current to a load capacitor via a load inductor, if the voltage is above the desired level, activating the low side switch so as to sink current from the load capacitor via the load inductor; and utilizing the current measuring circuit to measure the current flowing through the high side switch in either a positive direction or a negative direction, where the controller is operable for controlling the current measuring circuit and disabling active components contained in the current measuring circuit and the active diode when the active components are not utilized during operation of the switching regulator so as to reduce operational power requirements of the switching regulator.

    • A seal ring that is high in wear resistance and sealability, and less likely to damage an aluminum alloy mating member, and particularly a seal ring having an outer diameter of 20 mm or under and formed with a slit which can be opened easily to be fitted on a shaft. Thus, an inexpensive large-capacity multilayer capacitor that has thermal resistance and is stable for a high DC bias voltage and a high frequency voltage, and a low loss switching power supply using this capacitor can be provided.
