    • An electronically controlled security lock is provided for use with safes, vaults, hotel rooms, safe deposit boxes, and the like. The security lock includes a housing having an interior region, exterior surfaces, and an aperture therethrough with a pair of opposed channels. The security lock also includes a dead bolt which is slidably disposed within the aperture of the housing, an actuator with a movable plunger element such as an electromagnetic solenoid which is arranged within the interior region of the housing, and a linkage which connects the plunger element and the dead bolt. The linkage of the security lock includes a pin which is received by openings formed in the dead bolt and by the channels of the aperture. In operation, the plunger element of the actuator moves the linkage and the dead bolt when an electric current is passed through the actuator. More specifically, the dead bolt moves between a retracted position wherein the dead bolt is substantially withdrawn within the housing and an extended position wherein the dead bolt protrudes at least partially outwardly away from the housing. When the dead bolt is in the extended position, the pin of the linkage engages stops formed within the channels of the aperture and latches the dead bolt in the extended position. A spring is also provided between the actuator and the linkage for biasing the dead bolt towards the extended position.

    • A locking/release mechanism for a pivot bolt of a closed-circuit door opener with a safety catch for the pivot bolt, which is controlled by an electromagnet. In order to reliably ensure release of the pivot bolt, even if a person has exerted strong pressure thereon prior to the cutting out or interruption of the magnet current, a locking lever is positioned between the electromagnet and the safety catch. The locking lever has a two-armed construction, one arm being provided with a stop member for engaging with the safety catch and the other arm being in the form of the electromagnet armature. The effective contact surface between the safety catch and the stop member is constructed in such a way that there is a wedge-like displacement action on the stop member through the safety catch.

    • The locking device is capable selectively of taking up a first operating e for use in the presence of the public in which it provides positive safety unlocking under remote control by interrupting the current feeding an electromagnet, and a second operating mode for use when the public is absent, and which is more secure. The device includes a bolt pivotally mounted about a bolt axis. The pivoting bolt co-operates with a retraction spring which has energy stored therein when the bolt is in its door-closing position, and also with a locking piston which is guided by a guide part to move perpendicularly to the axis. The bolt-locking means includes a toggle mechanism comprising a first link that pivots about a fixed first axis, and a second link hinged about a moving second axis to the first link and about a moving third axis to the piston. The moving second and third axes are parallel to the fixed first axis. In the locked position, the axes are substantially in alignment along the displacement direction of the piston and a toggle-collapsing spring has energy stored therein.
