    • A sublimation-type thermal image transfer recording medium is composed of a support, a dye-containing layer formed on the support, containing a sublimable dye, and a top layer formed on the dye-containing layer, containing a hydrolyzed product of a silane coupling agent. This sublimation-type thermal image transfer recording medium may be composed of a support, at least two dye-containing layers formed on the support, containing a sublimable dye and an organic binder agent in which the sublimable dye is dispersed, and a top layer formed on at least the two dye-containing layers, containing a hydrolyzed product of a silane coupling agent.     • A laminar thermal imaging medium is prepared from a first element comprising a first sheet transparent to image-forming radiation and having at least a surface zone or layer of polymeric material heat-activatable upon subjection of the thermal imaging medium to brief and intense radiation, the first element carrying a layer of porous or particulate image-forming substance having cohesivity in excess of its adhesivity for the polymeric heat-activatable layer, and, on the opposed side of the layer of porous or particulate image-forming substance from the surface zone or layer, a first layer of adhesive, and a second element comprising a second sheet carrying a second layer of adhesive. The second layer of adhesive comprises a polymeric hardenable adhesive comprising a macromolecular organic binder having acidic groups, and a photopolymerizable monomer. The first and second elements are laminated together with the first and second layers of adhesive in contact with one another, so forming a unitary laminar medium in which the hardenable adhesive remains in its unhardened condition and serves to reduce the tendency for the unitary laminar medium to delaminate on application of stresses to the medium. Only a short lag time, typically about 10-90 seconds, is required between lamination and curing of the hardenable adhesive in order to provide a strong bond between the two elements following curing.

    • A process for image forming by heat transfer method is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of (1) transferring an ink image from an ink layer of an ink sheet, which comprises a support and an ink layer provided on the support, to a surface of an intermediate image receiving layer of an intermediate image receiving sheet, which comprises a support and an image receiving layer provided on the support, by imagewise heating the ink layer, and (2) re-transferring the ink image transferred on the intermediate image receiving layer to a secondary image receiving sheet,In the above process, the ink layer comprises a coloring material and a homopolymer or a copolymer comprising a repeating unit derived from a monomer represented by the following Formula 1 or a phthalic polyester formed by polymerization of phthalic acid and a polyol; ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms or a --COOR.sub.5 group, R.sub.5 a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms.
