    • The invention disclosed herein is a durable, lightweight, bicycle dropout-fitting design for use on high strength fiber reinforced composite frames and forks of competition bicycles. The invention provides improved fatigue and impact resistance compared to prior art designs. The invention is configured to make maximum use of modern cold metal forming methods to produce the connecting part and adhesive bonding and/or co-curing methods to join the part to the primary structure. The superior structural performance of the invention is provided by a unique geometry that efficiently utilizes the material properties of the part to maximize the rigidity and strength of the joint.

    • A universal lock is provided for attachment to a conventional quick release mechanism of a bicycle, a bicycle carrier, or a bicycle seat post. The lock includes a conventional key operated plug lock mounted within a lock adaptor which in turn is rotatably mounted upon a lever housing. The lever housing includes an aperture for attachment of the conventional lever bore at the end of the shaft of the quick release mechanism. A camming mechanism with stop points is used to control rotation of the lock adaptor on the lever housing. In the locked position, the lever housing blocks movement of the lever arm. In the unlocked position, the lever housing may be rotated to enable operation of the lever.

    • A bicycle unit hub incorporates a hub shell rotatably supported on a hub shaft, a core mounted to one end of the hub shell for co-rotation therewith, a sprocket carrier supported around the core to rotate relative thereto only in one direction, and a hollow bolt inserted into the hub shell from the other end thereof. The bolt has a head engageable with an annular step formed on the hub shell.     • A bicycle free-wheel includes a shaft, and a hub rotatably sleeved around the shaft. A driven member is rotatably sleeved around the shaft and fixed to the hub, and has an even outer face. A driving member is rotatably sleeved around the driven member and has an inner face confronting the outer face. A plurality of longitudinal projections of the inner face and the outer face define a plurality of elongated channels. The distance between the inner and outer faces of the elongated channel is gradually reduced from a wider end to a narrower end. A plurality of elastic rods are respectively received in the wider ends. A plurality of clutch rollers are respectively provided in the elongated channels. The clutch roller wedges into the narrower end allowing the driving member to rotate the driven member when the driving member is rotated in a first direction. The clutch roller moves toward the wider end to allow the driving member to be rotatable with respect to the driven member when the driving member is rotated in an opposite second direction.

    • A high-speed lock nut, especially for attaching a vehicle wheel to the clamping shift of a balancing machine, has a casing or body in which at least one threaded segment is positioned in a radially movable manner. Manually actuating means serve to move the segment radially. The actuating means engage with the segment by means of a radially-acting connecting link guide comprising pins on the segments and cooperating oblique slots in a coaxial disk. By means of the connecting link guide, the segment can be activated easily and securely, even under high contact pressures, for example, with contaminated threads. Furthermore, the thread segment is automatically locked in closed position against the threaded shaft of the balancing machine by the connecting link guide. The construction is very simple.
