    • A cyclone dust collector wherein the interior of a cyclone body is divided into an upper space and a lower space by a partition member provided with a plurality of cylindrical filters, a suction port is so provided as to communicate with the lower space, a common discharge port is so provided as to communicate with the upper space, a collected dust recovery box is fixed to the lower end of the cyclone body, and a discharge blower is connected to the discharge port of the cyclone body. The dust collector is further provided with backwashing stop valves capable of opening and closing upper end portions of the filters and having backwashing nozzles, stop valve driving mechanisms adapted to open and close the stop valves, compressed air hoses connected to the backwashing nozzles of the stop valves, and backwashing electromagnetic valves for controlling the supply and cutoff of backwashing compressed air to the compressed air hoses. Each of the filters is able to be backwashed independently by supplying compressed air to the filters via the compressed air hoses, with the upper end portions of the filters closed by the stop valves.

    • An improved baghouse which is adapted to remove particulate matter from an air flow. The baghouse has three main chambers being the plenum, the receiving chamber, and a hopper. The three chambers are separated from each other using tubesheets having multiple holes therein. Filtering bags are connected to the upper and lower tubesheets. Attachment of the bag to the upper tubesheet is accomplished using a thimble that is preferably assembled with the bag and then delivered to the site ready for easy insertion into the hole of the tubesheet. A strap to sandwich the bag to the upper thimble. At the lower end, there are attached thimbles on the tubesheet and the bags are secured to those thimbles using clamps. Through the use of beads on the thimbles and bags, shaped clamps and straps, the bag is secured to both thimbles such that slippage and leakage are eliminated; further the shaped bottom clamps prevent relative motion between the bag and the top of the bottom thimble so that excess bag wear is avoided.

    • A transformable and collapsible filter frame which can support various air intake filtering media for internal combustion engines. One form of the filter frame corresponds generally to the shape of a carousel. The frame facilitates replacement of reusable filtering medium to be applied over its surface. The filtering media may be a polyurethane foam. The carousel filter frame structure includes expandable and adjustable parts, rings and struts which, when integrated are used as supporting members. The rings and struts include connecting members and can be easily disassembled and reassembled. The carousel filter body structure can be easily transformed into various configurations and sizes with the adaptable filter frame parts as desired to form other different types of filter shapes or forms. One shape of the carousel can be split to form various shapes of filter frames such as a circle, cylinder, shield, cone, oval, square, rectangle and various combinations thereof. Advantageously, the reusable filtering medium and adjustable frame is a practical alternative to the existing air filters which are thrown away after a single use.

    • A manually closable collar for a vacuum cleaner bag is adapted to be secured to an air bag. The collar is formed from a single blank of relatively rigid material folded to define three overlying and generally planar panels. Each of the panels defines an aperture therethrough, the apertures being initially aligned in the collar to enable the passage of air therethrough and into the air bag. The middle panel of the collar defines (i) a fixed raceway element adhesively secured to at least one of the outer panels of the collar, and (ii) a detachable slider element secured to the raceway element only by various nicks. The slider element has a first portion defining the aperture of the middle panel and a second portion which is unapertured. When detached from the raceway element by a user breaking the various nicks, the slider element is manually slidably movable (either longitudinally or rotatably) from a first or open position, wherein the aperture of the middle panel is aligned with the apertures of the outer panels, to a second or closed position, wherein the second portion blocks air flow between the apertures of the outer panels.

    • A filter and support structure, for a baghouse having a tube sheet with a plurality of apertures, has a filter media wrapped around a core. An end cap is joined proximate the top of the core and has a rim extending over the filter media. The rim of the end cap is joined with a collar having a downwardly depending annular barrel. The barrel has a pair of outwardly protruding ribs. A snap band assembly has a metallic snap band, spring-biased outwardly, and covered with fabric. The snap band assembly has upper and lower outwardly protruding portions. The snap band assembly receives a periphery of a tube sheet aperture between the upper and lower outwardly protruding portions. The upper rib of the pair engages with the inner face of the snap band assembly proximate the plane in which the tube sheet lies, or slightly below that plane. The collar has a flat upper portion which is spatially removed from the snap band assembly and a downwardly depending annular flange which engages with the top of the tube sheet. A plurality of cutaway areas are spaced around the flange for receiving a pry bar.

    • A pressure relief valve for both reducing pressure in a vessel when the pressure of a mixed media combination made up of a mixture of gaseous and nongaseous components and contained in the vessel is at a relief valve actuating pressure, and for filtering nongaseous components from a mixed media combination flowed from the valve. The valve includes a housing with an inlet and a discharge port. The housing inlet is disposed in mixed media combination receiving communication with the vessel. The housing defines a housing chamber and the housing also includes a valve member movable within in the chamber between an occluding position, relative to the inlet when the vessel pressure is not at the actuating pressure, and a non-occluding position, relative to the inlet, when the vessel pressure is at the actuating pressure. The pressure relief valve also includes a filter device expandable by the mixed media combination when the vessel pressure is at the actuating pressure. The filter device is disposed in mixed media receiving relation with the discharge port, and filters the nongaseous components from the mixed media combination and permits the gaseous components to flow through the filter device.
