    • A conveyor having a series of pans mounted on chain links with the leading and trailing edges of the pans overlapping. The trailing edge of each pan has a stiffened transverse arcuate based contacted by the front corner of a transverse arcuate front bead on the rearwardly adjacent pan under all operating conditions. The shape of the beads causes the front bead to deflect and self bias into contact. End plates are welded to the pan except at the front bead from the leading corner to the peak of the arc of the bead. This leaves the front portion free to flex to develop the bias. The end plates are also shaped to develop bias to maintain line contact of the front edge of the end plate on the rear portion of the end plate next ahead. The plates overlap in all operating conditions.

    • A low-profile, over-center tension latch assembly is provided which has a handle (20) which opens fully for inspection or adjustment of the assembly while under load, and which may be indexed into a position with a link mechanism (70) in order to act therewith for releasing a keeper engaging member (50) from engagement with a keeper assembly. The handle (70) is locked in a closed position in a manner which secures it to the link mechanism (70) while trapping the keeper engaging member (50) therebetween. The arrangement of the handle (20), keeper engaging member (50) and link mechanism (70) is such as to allow the assembly to be aerodynamically flush mounted with the surface of the structure in which it is installed. Both the handle (20) and the keeper engaging member (50) are pivotally mounted at an end of the link mechanism which is opposite that end which mounts the link mechanism to the aircraft structure. The keeper engaging member (50) extends over the top of the mounting bushing (74) for a resulting over-center latch which operates within a low-profile envelope.

    • The present invention provides an expandable fastener assembly for use in materials which cannot be successfully fastened by conventional screw threads. The assembly includes an insert (20) constructed as a coil to expand uniformly along its convolutions and thereby exert a force upon the adjacent material (50). A fastener (30) has outer threads compatible with the inner threads of the insert (20) such that when a tightening or seating torque is applied to the fastener (30) it is transferred to the insert (20). The transferred force expands the insert (20) outwardly with respect to the fastener (30), without rotation of the insert (20) relative to rotation of the fastener (30). The invention is also provided with an anti-rotation feature to secure the fastener from rotational movement after installation.

    • A polymeric grease gun comprising a tubular body of polymeric material which defines a chamber for containing grease, a forward end cap having a grease pump, pump lever and a nozzle, a polymeric rear end cap, and a plunger for urging grease forward into the chamber, where the end caps are secured to the tubular body by means of lugs at each end of the tube which engage blind-ended arcuate slots in the leading edge of the end caps so that the caps are retained on the body against an internal axial force which tends to separate the caps from the body.
