摘要： Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for identifying (recognizing) an object from its shape in a sequence of images utilizing sequence alignment matrices (SAMs). For a given image, an object is segmented and from the segmented object, a set of key points is extracted. From the extracted key points, a set of local feature descriptors, strictly related to the key points and uniquely ordered in sequence, are extracted. The feature sequence obtained from the segmented object is aligned with a counterpart or reference image (e.g., a model or another image) using a Sequence Alignment Matrix (SAM). A custom scoring technique for the alignment provides a quality index for the identification of the object.

The housing may include a primary inductive charging interface that aligns and inductively couples with a complementary secondary inductive charging interface located within the machine-readable symbol reader to provide power to the machine-readable symbol reader while the machine-readable symbol reader captures visual representations of machine-readable symbols.

摘要： Two or more colors are used in an aiming pattern, where the high contrast between the edges of the two illuminated portions identifies the centerline of the field of view (FOV). The centerline is used as an intuitive and highly recognizable aiming pattern. The colors are generated by light sources, such as LEDs or laser diodes. The edges of the two figures produced by the light sources create a high visibility color contrast line/stripe. Additionally, the aiming pattern can be created using illuminators in the barcode reader, allowing for the barcode to maintain compactness.

摘要： Systems and methods for providing machine-readable symbol readers that make reading difficult direct part marks simple for a user. A dark field illuminator may generate grazing incidence radiation (e.g., less than 45 degrees, less than 30 degrees, less than 20 degrees) in a plane which is tilted with respect to a plane which is normal to an optical axis of the machine-readable symbol reader. Such configuration provides a reading system which is relatively less affected by unwanted scattering caused by irregularities of a surface marked with a machine-readable symbol. Generally, during use users attempt to scan a machine-readable symbol by positioning the front end of the machine-readable symbol reader “head on” or parallel to the marked surface. By providing a front end which is tilted at an angle other than perpendicular with respect to the optical axis, the user is automatically guided to scan machine-readable symbols at an optimum angle.
