    • A camera system operable with data carried from a camera accessory to a camera body. The camera accessory has a ROM for storing various data at a plurality of addresses, respectively, each of which data consists of a plurality of bits, and a coupling terminal for receiving a train of clock pulses from the camera body. A circuit is also provided for sequentially designating the address of the ROM one by one to permit the ROM to output a data stored at the designated address. In the circuit, an address signal is formed in response to the clock pulses, received through the coupling terminal, for designating an address. The data derived from the ROM are transmitted to the camera body. The camera system can operate under different modes of exposure control and can identify the attachments of accessories as to their capacity to be responsive to different forms of exposure control systems, particularly when the attachment will either permit or prevent control of an aperture value from the camera body.

    • A photographic camera enables pseudo telephoto and pseudo panoramic prints to be produced from exposed film frames by coding the film frame to identify the selected pseudo format. In the camera, a manually operated member is movable to a position corresponding to the actual field of view of the objective lens and to respective positions corresponding to pseudo telephoto or pseudo panoramic fields of view reduced from the actual field of view. Code means, responsive to movement of the manually operated member to a position corresponding to a pseudo telephoto or pseudo panoramic field of view, encodes a film frame with indicia representative of the selected pseudo field of view to identify the portion of the film frame covered by the pseudo field of view. The identified portion of the film frame can then be enlarged to produce a pseudo telephoto or pseudo panoramic print.A photosensitive element in the exposure control system of the camera provides a measure of the brightness of light reflected from a subject to be photographed. Light control means, responsive to movement of the manually operated member to a position corresponding to a pseudo telephoto or pseudo panoramic field of view, controls the amount of light reaching the photosensitive element in accordance with the amount of light available to the selected pseudo field of view. Thus the portion of the film frame used to produce the pseudo telephoto or pseudo panoramic print can be more accurately exposed.

    • An interchangeable variable aperture lens can be used as an automatic lens with a camera body using digital signal control and with a camera body using analog signal control, and as a manual lens. The lens has both digital and analogue circuits for providing signals, to different camera bodies, indicative of the full open and full closed values of the lens diaphragm. Digital and analogue signal contacts are so positioned on the lens that the coacting contacts of different camera bodies are engaged when the lens is mounted on the different bodies, provided that the mechanical mount is the same.
