摘要： A collapsible lantern is disclosed which is formed from a blank which is stamped or otherwise provided from a suitable paperboard material. The lantern blank has four panels which are folded and two of the panels are secured together to form a four sided member. The member carries flaps which are engageable to provide a closed bottom and an open gable top for the lantern, and whereby the lantern is substantially rectangular in cross-section. The arrangement is such that a candle or like light source is disposed within the lantern and at the closed bottom thereof. Holes are provided on the lantern sides and light from the candle is emitted through the holes and through the open gable top to provide the desired result. The flaps are disengageable whereby the lantern is collapsible to a flat form for easy shipment and storage, as the case may be.

The inner lamp-shade includes an upper annular member, a lower annular member and a flexible material stretched therebetween, while the outer lamp-shade is composed of a number of frame members which are abutted one upon another at their sides to assume a polygonal shade around the inner lamp-shade. The upper and lower annular members are respectively provided with a plurality of loop-shaped lugs equidistantly located along their outer circumferences and extending away from their centers, and the frame members each have replaceably mounted thereon a decorative piece. A connecting element is detachably provided between each lug and each frame member thereby to form a dual lamp-shade construction.

A plurality of said frame units are put together with the bent portion of the frame arms being inside and facing each other, and held by said upper and lower holder, then a light bulb socket is mounted on the upper or lower holder. Finally, the shade plates are slid along the pillar and are fixed to the frame units respectively to finish the lamp.

摘要： In a lamp shade of the type comprising a plurality of panels, preferably glass panels, held together by a support system having stiff collars at the corners of the panels and connecting members connecting together groups of said collars, some of the connecting members are formed as elastic members, as a result of which the support system holds the panels together into a lamp shade of a desired polyhedral configuration under the tension of the elastic members. The support system may be preassembled and compacted to a small size for storage, packing or shipping in such state together with a stacked pack of the panels to be used therewith, permitting final assembly of the panels to the support system by the ultimate consumer in a very short time without the need for tools. There results a decrease in space and fragility during storage, shipping and handling, with attendant cost savings.

摘要： A ready-to-assemble knock-down kit for forming a lamp shade and analogous articles includes a plurality of panels, preferably of flexible non-self-supporting material such as cloth, and a plurality of longitudinally-extending ribs for snappingly engaging adjacent side edge regions of each two adjacent panels. Each rib has resilient wall portions which bound a generally U-shaped channel for receiving therein with snap-type action a side edge region of one panel and a side edge region of another adjacent panel. The panels are supported in a predetermined lamp shade type orientation relative to each other by a plurality of support elements which extend radially outwardly from a ring member that is adapted to be mounted on a lamp to be shaded. Each support element has one end turnably mounted in the ring member and another end mountable on a respective rib. The other end is receivable either directly in the channel of the respective rib or in an auxiliary channel formed in an extension of the rib. The shade is assembled from a plurality of parts which are shipped in a generally flat, compact or collapsed condition.
