摘要： A universal tool which can be a screwdriver, wrench, pliers, or any other tool. The tool can operate on an object (e.g., a screw, bolt, etc.) of any shape because of a set of pins that can mold to match a shape of the object. For example, a same universal screwdriver has pegs which mold themselves to match a shape of a slotted screw head or mold themselves to match a shape of a philips screw head. A user of the universal screwdriver can then turn such screw by turning the universal screwdriver in a standard fashion. When the universal screwdriver is removed from the object, then the pegs automatically revert themselves to a default position so a different shaped screw head can then be operated on.

The tool includes a rear member movably coupled to the front member, with the rear member including a rear indexing surface and a rear extension member. When the front member and the rear member engage a head of the cable tie in a closed state, the front extension member protrudes into an opening in the head, in an insertion direction, a front extension distance that is less than the length of the head minus a distance from the rear surface to a pawl of the cable tie along the insertion direction, and spaces a contact portion of the pawl, along a transverse direction, by a distance sufficient to disengage the cable tie.

As to the entire structure of the present invention, a lock member is simply turned to control gripping members to hold or release deformation of a snap ring. The lock member is turned for a stop of a limit member to hold against the upper surface of an elastic plate to block a hook portion from moving upward, so that the elastic plate can be made with a thinner plate. The hook portion is flexibly held by teeth of a ratchet rail. A lower protrusion of the elastic plate is held by an upper protrusion of the lock member with less resistance. This enhances the lock member to be turned in a labor-saving or flexible way.
