摘要： A method and apparatus for drying disintegrated fiber mass or paper pulp comprising substantially free single fibers and wads or lumps of fibers. The disintegrated fiber mass is exposed to hot drying air or gas at a temperature of at least 180.degree. C. Free fibers are separated from the fiber mass during or after the drying process in order to avoid or compensate for excessive heating and drying of these free fibers. This facilitates a later grinding process in which the dried fiber mass is ground after addition of water.

摘要： A dry distillation process for treating bituminous or oil-containing fine-grained material, particularly tar sand, with a heat carrier comprising fine-grained dry distillation residue which is heated in a pneumatic conveyor line by hot combustion gases and then fed to a collecting vessel and mixed in a dry distillation zone with the fine-grained material to be subjected to dry distillation. The dry distillation residue is heated to a temperature of 600.degree.-850.degree. C before being mixed at least in part with the material which is to be subjected to dry distillation, said material containing at least 0.2% by weight magnesium carbonate and/or calcium carbonate.

摘要： A process for conveying thin-walled cup-shaped circular cylindrical articles on a cushion of fluid by positioning them between a plurality of longitudinally-extending members formed with opposing shape-conforming supporting surfaces and having ports therealong for discharging a pressurized fluid against the walls of the article. The magnitude of fluid discharged is controlled to effect an inward deflection of the walls of the article along its trailing open end, imparting a converging taper thereto and producing a force vector for propelling the article in the direction of intended travel along the members. The discharge of fluid from the opposed members is also controlled to produce a separating air cushion between the ends of adjacent articles, resisting impact therebetween during their conveyance along the members.

摘要： A method for drying wet spent coffee grounds to remove moisture therefrom is disclosed. The wet spent coffee grounds are entrained in a hot gas stream passing through a rotary drum drier to remove moisture therefrom and transport them through the drum. Grounds from which moisture has been removed to a desired level pass out of the drum drier with the hot gas stream while grounds containing moisture in excess of the desired level and falling from the stream during transport through the drum are collected in a compartment therein and conveyed in an unobstructed circular travel course about the hot gas stream for gravity return of such collected grounds to the stream for further moisture removal, the grounds being collected and returned to the stream as often as required to reduce the moisture therein to the desired level. Coffee grounds passing out of the drum with the moisture-laden gas stream are separated from the gas stream and cooled.
