摘要： There is described an installation (01; 02) for recycling wiping solution of one or more intaglio printing presses (10) comprising a flocculation tank (12) for inducing flocculation of ink constituents contained in waste solution coming from the one or more intaglio printing presses (10), a processing tank (14) for pre-treating the waste solution for subsequent filtering, and a filtering unit (15), preferably a filter press unit, for filtering the waste solution coming from the processing tank (14) and producing recycled solution at an output of the filtering unit (15), which recycled solution is recycled to produce fresh wiping solution for use by the one or more intaglio printing presses (10). According to one embodiment, the installation (01) further comprises a centrifugation unit (13) for separating the waste solution coming from the flocculation tank (12) by centrifugation into precipitate and centrifuged supernatant, which centrifuged supernatant is fed to the processing tank (14). According to a second embodiment, the installation (02) further comprises a decantation unit (13a) for separating the waste solution coming from the flocculation tank (12) by decantation into precipitate and decanted supernatant, which decanted supernatant is fed to the processing tank (14), and a centrifugation unit (13b) for further separating the precipitate produced by the decantation unit (13a) by centrifugation into further precipitate and centrifuged supernatant, which centrifuged supernatant is fed to the processing tank (14). There are also described corresponding processes for recycling wiping solution.

摘要： This invention is directed to a hydrocyclone that will separate particles from a liquid stream, such as from an irrigation water stream for use in drip irrigation. The invented hydrocyclone has an inlet, a separation section, a clean liquid outlet, and a slurry outlet, wherein the separation section has a vortex and a cone, and wherein the vortex length is more than three times longer than the cone length, and the cone has an angle of about 45 degrees. The invented hydrocyclone also has a vortex diameter to vortex length ratio of between about 0.8 and about 1.2, and a cone length to vortex length ratio of between about 0.28 and about 0.35. The invented hydrocylone may be of unitary construction. When in use, the invented hydrocyclone may create a clean water stream having at least 78% fewer particles than the original liquid stream.

摘要： Improved systems and processes for forward osmosis water purification or desalination are herein disclosed. According to one embodiment a process for purifying contaminated water is provided wherein a contaminated feed solution stream comprising water and with a first osmotic pressure is passed through a semipermeable membrane to a draw side having a draw solution stream with a second osmotic pressure on a draw side of the semipermeable membrane. The diluted draw solution stream is heated, agglomerated and cooled to produce a cooled single phase water rich stream that is purified to produce a water product stream.

摘要： A system operating as a centrifugal, liquid-liquid separator may be controlled, and even optimized, by automatic control of back pressure to establish an optimum position of the dispersion band therein. Optimizing to minimize impurities (from each other) in each of two separated phases is possible, even simultaneously, by reliance on a processor setting the settling lengths of both heavy and light phases at the same value. Settling length, defined in accordance with the invention, reflects a settling velocity multiplied by a residence time. Equating these lengths, for droplets of each in the other liquid, provides superior results over conventional settling theory maximizing settling area. Equalization of residence times did not provide an improvement over conventional settling theory.
