The two legs are secured together contiguously to form a double thickness which is secured to the overlapping layers, and at least one leg of each of at least two of the lifting loops extends substantially to the bottom of the side wall.

摘要： A self-raising strap loop is described, for use with a flexible, stackable container. The strap loop includes a strap which is flexible, and resilient means associated with the strap so that when the container is subjected to stacking forces the strap loop will lie substantially flat on the container, but when the stacking forces are removed, the loop will be forced to assume an upstanding position ready to receive a lifting device such as a fork of a fork-lift truck. The resilient means may be a resilient plastics or metallic insert enveloped by the strap, either in the form of a flat strip or a plurality of wires. The resilient means may also take the form of plastics or metallic wires woven into or being the warp threads of a woven strap. The resilient means may also be an impregnating material within a woven strap to render it semi-rigid. By using the self-raising strap loop it becomes unnecessary to pre-orient a lifting strap prior to engagement with a suitable lifting device.

A reinforcing belt or belts are positioned to extend around the entire circumference of the central section of the container at least at a lower portion thereof adjacent the container bottom. The belt or belts have an open lower end and do not cover or enclose the container bottom. The belt or belts have a total width of from one-third of the height portion of the central section of the container equal to the height of such height section.

摘要： A container for transporting bulk material either solid or liquid has a pallet and a sleeve having segments of its wall secured to the pallet and other segments of its wall folded inwardly to provide flaps. A tubular member having corrugated-paperboard or the like wall and a cross-section corresponding to that of the sleeve has one end thereof disposed in the sleeve and resting on the flaps. A plastic bag may be inserted in the container and is folded about its edges to overlap the flaps. A rigid disk such as a corrugated paperboard disk having a cross-section substantially equal to the cross-section of the sleeve is disposed in the bag adjacent its closed end with its peripheral edge under the flaps. When the bag is filled with material, it is expanded against the wall of the tubular member and the tubular member is pressed against the sleeve thereby securing the tubular member in the sleeve. A cup-shaped lid is slidably disposed over the open end of the tubular member to enclose the bag.

Each leg is secured to the fabric of the bag by folding a section of the fabric to a substantially S-shaped configuration along fold lines extending from the top towards the bottom of the bag to form three overlying thicknesses of fabric and stitching through the three thicknesses of fabric and the leg. The resulting characteristic shape of the bag provides inherent stability to the bag and the stitching technique allows high factors of safety to be obtained. In a presently preferred embodiment, the filled bag has a shape resembling that of a wide-necked bottle, with a broader base and a tapered top.

摘要： The tank comprises a bag which has in plan and in the flat condition the shape of a square with rounded corners formed by the assembly of two walls of fabric coated with an elastomer. Two straps also of coated fabric and having equal lengths are each fixed by their respective ends to opposed edges of the bag and have a length slightly greater than the distance between the opposed edges. When the hooking ring disposed in the region of the crossing of the two straps is subjected to a traction by a line carried by a helicopter, each half strap assumes an oblique position so that, when the tank is raised and carried along with the helicopter, the whole of the tank assumes an aerodynamic profile which prevents any pendular or giratory movements in respect of speeds which may exceed 200 km per hour.
