摘要： A method and an apparatus for applying an anesthetic includes a receptacle having an upper end, a substantially hollow interior, a lower end having a tube or nozzle extending therefrom, and an attachment for attaching to the barrel of a syringe or vice versa. The receptacle receives a container or canister containing an endothermic gas or vapor(propellant) that rapidly absorbs heat when released to the atmosphere. A depressible actuating member or trigger propels the gas or vapor through an outlet nozzle that is oriented to project a stream of gas or vapor along a delivery axis that intersects a delivery axis of the needle, therefore, the gas or vapor can be successively delivered to an injection site with minimal repositioning of the housing.

摘要： An absorbent insert of compressed matrix of absorbent material, including a filler dispersed therein to improve stiffness/rigidity of the insert and controls the absorbency of the compressed absorbent material. The insert is pre-shaped and sized for inserting into a tooth cavity, such as a pulp chamber or a root canal space. The compressed insert expands or swells upon absorbing fluid within the tooth cavity, so as to more completely dry the tooth cavity. The absorbent insert also serve as a substrate of an applicator for medical agent to be applied to a tooth cavity. The absorbent insert is provided (e.g., coated or impregnated) with a medical agent, which medical agent is released into the tooth cavity as the absorbent material absorbs fluid in the tooth cavity.

摘要： A biotechnology process that employs membrane technology for obtaining an extract rich in tannins of ellagic acid from blackberries (Rubus spp.) and from other fruits that contain these compounds, as well as to the extract obtained using this method. The method is essentially based on baromembrane technologies that allow mechanical separation and effective fractionation between the polyphenol compounds, by interactions between the physico-chemical properties thereof, the material of the membrane and the molar mass of same, thereby allowing enrichment of a fraction of the natural extract with ellagic acid tannins and modification of the content thereof in terms of anthocyanins and other compounds such as sugars and acids.

The proximal end of each swab is dimensioned to be slidably received within the channel, while the distal end comprises flocking. Each of the disposable swabs is dimensioned to be received within a user's mouth for application of the topical anesthetic. A method of numbing a dental area is also provided herein.
