摘要： Piece of material for an article of clothing (2) and use of the piece of material for production of a garment. The article of clothing is intended to cover at least the upper body and is provided with a front and a back which are finished with a lower edge, a shoulder section with a neck opening (13) and arms. The piece of material (1) has a first edge (3) which is intended to form the lower edge, a second edge (4, 5) opposite this, two side edges (6, 10 and 7, 11) opposite each other and two cuts (8, 9) which extend inwards from the side edges and which are finished at a distance from each other which corresponds approximately to the size across the chest. The piece of material is symmetrical about a center axis (16) on which the neck opening is located, the cuts (8, 9) form an angle, to the center axis (16), which, measured in the direction of the first edge (3), is less than 90.degree.. The second edge is divided into two parts (4, 5) which each have an angle, to the center axis (16), which is less than the corresponding angle for the cuts (8, 9). The piece of material can be joined together by a single seam.

摘要： A protective coat for firefighters comprises an outer shell, an inner liner and a flap. The outer shell has a front and back portion defining a neck opening and right and left sleeve openings, and right and left sleeves attached to the right and left sleeve openings, the back portion having a lower edge. The inner liner also has a front and back portion defining a neck opening and right and left sleeve openings, and right and left sleeves attached to the right and left sleeve openings, the back portion having a lower edge. The sleeves of the inner liner are insertable within the sleeves of the outer shell and the neck openings are coincident so that the inner liner is secured within the outer shell. The flap is extendable downwardly in a first position below the lower edge of the back portions of the outer shell and inner liner and is foldable upwardly in a second position thereabove to provide a visual indication that the inner liner is missing.

摘要： A garment has a collar/lapel which is produced by folding a part of the boundary area between a body piece and a flyback. A first expansible and contractible interfacing member is fitted to an area of the body which becomes the rear side of the collar/lapel when it is folded but no interfacing is fitted to the area of the flyback which becomes the front side of the collar/lapel when it is folded. A second expansible and contractible interfacing member is fitted to the area of the flyback which becomes a rear side of the collar when it is folded. A stitch by means of which the first expansible and contractible member is sewn to the body is provided in the proximity of the position where the first expansible and contractible interfacing member fitted to the body is folded as a collar. Another stitch by means of which the second expansion and contractible interfacing member is sewn to the flyback is provided in the proximity of the position where the second expansible and contractible interfacing member fitted to the flyback is folded as a collar. A free end part of the first expansible and contractible interfacing member and a free end part of the second expansible and contractible member are joined to one another with the aid a stitch or adhesive.

摘要： A firefighter's garment having a double wristlet sleeve and cuff structure. The garment has full length sleeves. The garment, including the sleeves, has a plurality of layers: an outer layer, which is a flame resistant layer, an intermediate layer, which is a moisture barrier layer, and an inner layer, which is a thermal barrier layer. A cuff member of moisture barrier material is positioned at the end portion of each sleeve and extends directly from at least one of the layers. A wristlet or seal member is encompassed by the cuff member and is adapted to snugly encompass the wrist of the firefighter who wears the garment. Another wristlet or seal member is positioned between the cuff member and the outer layer. The wristlets or seal members are preferably of thermal barrier material. Thus, the sleeve and cuff structure protects the firefighter against movement of fluids and hot embers and other debris to the wrist and arm of the firefighter.

摘要： According to one form of the invention, light reflective material is applied directly to a localized area on the inner side of a trouser leg, coat sleeve or skirt so that the garment may be turned up to form a temporary cuff thereby to expose the light reflective material to view in the dark for warning the driver of a moving vehicle of the presence of the wearer in or near the path of the vehicle. In the normal use of the garment, i.e., with the cuff turned down, the light reflective material is concealed from view. According to another form of the invention, light reflective material is applied directly to a localized area of a jacket or coat and is normally concealed from view by the turned down collar of the coat. The coat collar may be turned up thereby to expose the light reflective material to view for the purpose noted hereinabove. In each of the several forms of the invention, except for the presence of the light reflective material applied directly to the garment in the manner noted hereinabove, the garment as a whole is conventional and each part thereof is a customary part of such a garment constructed in a conventional manner.
