    • The electroplasmolyzer for processing plant raw material comprises a cylindrical casing (1) having inlet and outlet holes (2, 3) and electrodes (5) arranged uniformly along a generating line within the cylindrical casing (1). The electroplasmolyzer, according to the invention, also comprises T-shaped electromagnets (6) disposed uniformly on the outer surface along the generating line of the cylindrical casing (1). The number of the electromagnets (6) is a multiple of three. Each electromagnet (6) is arranged above an interelectrode space formed by adjacent electrodes (5) to which its coil (8) is connected. An axis (9) of a yoke (10) of each electromagnet (6) is parallel to a longitudinal axis (4) of the cylindrical casing (1).

    • A juicing apparatus includes a conveyor for delivering citrus fruit to the top of a truncated cone. The top of the cone defines a circular knife with a tube extending concentrically from the circular knife and through the convex cone. The fruit is centered on the convex cone by deflectable centering supports. A plurality of radially aligned knives are directed toward the upper portion of the convex cone. A concave cone is movably disposed over the fruit and over the convex cone. Downward movement of the concave cone causes a central cylindrical plug to be cut from each fruit and gently juiced in the tube extending from the circular knife. Further downward movement of the concave cone urges the fruit into the radially aligned knives and cuts the fruit into sections that can be squeezed and wiped against the outer surface of the convex cone. Ejectors are mechanically connected to the movable components of the apparatus and are operative to rapidly urge the remains of the fruit outwardly and toward discard chutes.

    • Disclosed is a citrus fruit extractor of the type wherein a whole fruit is positioned in one of opposed interfitting cup halves which are provided with means for cutting the skin or rind at diametrically opposed areas. Concurrent movement of one or both cups toward each other compresses the fruit and produces the diametrically opposed cuts. Cutting and compressing ruptures the juice sacks and the juice flows through one of the cut areas of the skin, through a screen and to a collecting trough. In its path to the trough, the juice makes little or no contact with the freshly cut surfaces of the skin.

    • Olive oil is recovered from olives by separating olive pits from olives to obtain a pitless olive meat, by maintaining the pitless olive meat at a temperature of about 70.degree. F. to about 110.degree. F., by introducing the pitless olive meat to an extraction zone, by withdrawing a liquid phase comprising olive oil, water, and a minor proportion of pulp from a first portion of the extraction zone, and by withdrawing a substantially dry solid olive pulp from a second portion of the extraction zone. The pulp and water are separated from the oil to obtain a pure olive oil. An inert additive is mixed with the pitless olive meat before extraction to increase the yield of product olive oil. Where olive culls are used as the starting material, the culls are wetted before the pits are separated.

    • A citrus fruit juice extractor capable of processing at least 900 fruit per minute includes a set of lower extractor cups rigidly mounted in a linear arrangement to the extractor frame and a set of movable upper extractor cups adapted to interdigitate with the lower cups to extract juice from fruit received in the lower cups. The upper cups are mounted upon separate drive rods that are respectively clamped to cam follower arms, and the follower arms are sequentially driven by cams affixed in a balanced arrangement upon a camshaft to drive the upper extractor cups in a preselected sequence. The juice extractor further includes perforated strainer tubes extending downwardly of the lower extractor cups and hollow orifice tubes slidably received within the strainer tubes. The orifice tubes are sequentially driven by hydraulic slave cylinders that, in turn, are respectively controlled by master cylinders. Such master cylinders are driven by further cams mounted on the aforementioned camshaft so that the orifice tubes are sequentially operated in synchronization with the movement of the associated upper extractor cups.
