摘要： This invention relates to novel airbag coating compositions and systems comprising pre-expanded or non-expandable microspheres that provide effective insulation for the target airbag fabric during exothermic inflation. The inventive airbag fabrics are either pre-calendered prior to application of this composition or are coated through a gap (floating) knife method with such heat-expandable microsphere-containing compositions. The coated airbag fabrics and cushions may then be heated to evaporate the solvent within the coating composition. The resultant fabric thus exhibits the presence of the microsphere constituents of the coating compositions both within the interstices between the individual yarns of the fabric and over the raised yarns of the fabric. Such a coating system thus provides an extremely high degree of protection from heat exposure that permits structural integrity of the target airbag cushion airbag and provides protection from such high inflation temperatures to a vehicle passenger cushion during such a highly exothermic inflation event. The method of forming such specific airbag coating systems on airbag fabrics is also encompassed within this invention.

摘要： A transfer belt for eliminating an open draw between a press in a papermachine and a transfer point has a supporting base with a particle-filled polymer coating. The coating, which constitutes the paper side of the transfer belt, carries the paper sheet from a press nip in a closed draw to a transfer point without sheet flutter or drop-off. At the transfer point, the paper sheet is readily released to another sheet-conveying papermachine-clothing product. The transfer belt may carry the sheet through more than one press nip. The transfer belt surface has a pressure-responsive recoverable degree of roughness, which is made relatively smooth by compression in the press nip, allowing the thin, almost continuous water film to form between the transfer belt and the paper sheet. When leaving the press nip, the paper sheet is held to the transfer belt by the thin, almost continuous water film. Following exit from the press nip, the transfer belt surface recovers its uncompressed roughness, breaking up the water film, so that, by the time the paper sheet reaches the transfer point, it is readily released by the transfer belt to the next sheet-conveying papermachine-clothing product, which might be a felt, a belt, or a fabric.

摘要： A nonwoven fabric, particularly composed by long-stock synthetic resin yarns such as polyethylene and polypropylene is provided at one or both surfaces thereof with an ink-setting layer formed by coating, drying and curing a resin composition containing some of acrylic resins, synthetic rubbers and polyester resins. The ink-setting layer is excellent in the transfer property and fixing ability to an oil ink which is ordinarily used for offset printing, and prevents the nonwoven fabric from being swelled or transformed by a petroleum high-boiling-point solvent contained in the oil ink. Preferably, a low-temperature cross-linking agent is incorporated with the resin composition of the ink-setting layer so as to complete cross-linking of the resin composition at a low temperature at which heat shrinkage or heat damage of the nonwoven fabric will not be caused, in a shortened period of time. Moreover, when 10 to 40% by weight of non-calcined clay, 1 to 15% by weight of titanium dioxide and 1 to 10% by weight of calcium carbonate or calcined clay are incorporated as fillers in the resin composition of the ink-setting layer, the ink-setting layer has improved absorbability, drying ability and fixing ability to a printing ink. A preferable construction of the nonwoven fabric has a first layer containing the low-temperature cross-linking agent and a second layer containing the specific filler ingredients.
